  • heard this tv wasnt very good from the post… [NSW, ACT, VIC, QLD] Samsung 75" DU7700 [2024] Crystal UHD 4K Smart TV $995 Delivered (Selected Areas) / C&C @ Bing Lee

  • there's a whole bunch of other 75" 4k LED tv's around this price range $700-800 etc.. what makes this any better? other than its a Samsung and it might normally cost a couple hundred dollars more? i need more reasons to purchase this.. heard QLED is better than LED anyways.. anyone know good reasons why this is good and i should purchase it? i might just wait till a 75" QLED tv goes around this price. i was about to buy this tv, but then realised its only an LED tv.

    • +2

I agree, trying to remind people to do their research first, this is bottom of the spectrum model within Samsung

QLED is much better, also those models have better tech (200hz refresh, 4k@120hz and VRR for consoles etc) that this model has not

I got my QLED Frame for roughly $920 for 65" and I can tell that QLED 65" is way better than 75" led like this model here. I play Xbox series X on it and it's amazing

I would like to remind people that these are bottom of the spectrum within Samsung line-up

50hz, very low kind of brightness, make sure you see it in store before buying to make sure it works for u

    Samsung U series (BU - CU - DU) < Q60 < Frame and Serif< Q70 < Q80 < QN85

models that start with Q are Quantum Dot, QN is Quantum Neo, those usually have local dimming etc.

best value TVs are frames (you get great discounts on last year models on Samsung - I got 65 inch for 900+) because they are pretty much equivalent to Q70 of the same generation - and come with 200hz, no local dimming (this feature needs to jave lots of zones to work well, but that only is true about more expensive models and at that price why bother just get OLED), solid gaming experience with HDMI 2.1 and low response times, brightness will be very decent

step down Q60 doesn't have 4k@120hz or HDMI 2.1, and will have step down in brightness

Q70 isn't much of a step up, just different panel coating - Frames are usually matte

    • also further to this check what panel you're getting. for instance QN85 usually is IPS but other models might get IPS for some sizes

      but QN85 usually is IPS

IPS means wide viewing angles, they are really good for certain situations, but black levels aren't great

also some models might not get 200hz in smaller sizes, for example Frames below 55 inch don't get VRR or 4k@120hz

    • Visit your-local store & SEE-it side-by-side, comparing to other-monitors via their daisy-chain output-video (movies & NOT-animation)…whatever YOUR-preferences.

While people throw out their experties is very much appreciated, those coments are what I refer to as coffee machine syndrome (yes I invented it), refer to keep thinking getting something a bit better and end up with product that is out of budget and not mecessary for the user.

We all have different needs some poeple dont have the budget and want a good brand large TV. This one fit that bunch of people. Not eveyone game or watch sports 24/7, so 50hz for them can be acceptable.

Only think that is stoping me from buying is wife objection as we turn on our TV less than 10 times a year and more important it wont fit her brand new fancy tv trolley….

    • not really, I am not saying that everyone should go for the most expensive TVs on the market

I say for just a bit more you can have something so much better. why it matters? better spend $1200 on something that will make you happy for years to come than cheap out and throw $900 away

at the end of the day, it's a public forum, where we give each other advice. it's your money and do whatever you want with it.

      • -1

Well given how popular this deal is in the past few day, many don’t think it is throwing $900 away.

Also given the current tv price, that extra $300-400 can be spend on a second TV, new phone, new coffee machine.. depend on one’s budget and priority.

        • that's fine and dandy but it's just not a great TV is all

  • Pulled the trigger.
    Thanks OP

  • Great deal
