$ 2.50 @ aldi for Tim tam double coat chocolate ones just grabbed some yesterday.

    • In a 200g pack, it only has 9 pieces while original/dark one has 11 pieces.

      • Colour discrimination?

Contains ton of vegetable oil, not (dairy) butter. Veg / seed oils are usually bad news for health. Of course, the bigger issue here is copious amount of sugar (45.2%!).

Dude we don't eat Tim Tams to lose weight or live to 100

    • Don't forget the added colours. When chocolate products have added red/orange/yellow colour ("Beet red, cochineal, annatto" in this case), it means the "chocolate" didn't look brown enough, likely due to the manufacturer skimping on cocoa solids.

You've probably come across this before without realising, it's why cheap Easter eggs often have negligible chocolate flavour.

Expect to see more of this happening, with the price of cocoa (i.e. real chocolate) skyrocketing.

      • Funny how all the apparent crap in these Tim Tams won't scare me off from buying/eating them but if you mention the taste possibly changing - THAT's when my ears prick up LoL.

Anyone tried the Just Divine from Aldi? $2.19 usually and pretty close in taste. I normally pick them up when the Tim Tams are more than $2.50.

Thanks, I'll have a look when I'm next in Aldi. It's annoying that I can't check the ingredients in ALDI products online, like I can with Coles and Woolies.

$5 until 2023. Price hiked to $6, at $4.60 it's a whopping 40c saving on last year. And they taste like a brown icing sugar bar.

  • Tim tams are too addictive
