Fujifilm XF 100-400mm F/4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR Fujinon Lens $1799 + Delivery @ CCC Warehouse, Hong Kong

120

Always wanted to get this one, was going to wait for Black Friday but accidentally saw this deal. Just went to digi, but they refused to price match to $1799 (they said it is too cheap). I finally bought for $1899 and Digi is selling for $1999 (https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEw…)

There are couples of the website having similar promotions, camera pro is selling for $1999, camera warehouse is selling for $1899. Try to match different websites see if they can. Overall, $1999 seem to be worth it too. Stocks are very limited, I got the second last in the store. Few left at camera house city store.

  • Good price but they are a grey importer so you normally wouldn't have any luck with price matching them anyway.

Managed to find the right account now…

    Fujifilm

So it's only for film cameras?

    • Wrong. It’s only for Fuji’s Film

  • Honest question: I see quite a few Fujifilm APS-C bodies and lens are similar price compared to other full frame competitors, does any of you Fuji owners tempted to switch system?

    • I’d go full frame if prices are similar. Larger sensor benefit from less noise etc.

APS-C provides smaller form factor and weight. This appeals for casual shooter and street photography.

    • It's been several years since I last followed what's been going on in the camera hardware scene but I went with the Fuji system because their bodies are just so nice to hold and use. Lots of manual controls and customisability on how you can map functions to each button. Always found it enjoyable to use and make photography in general enjoyable.

I think in this day and age, APS-C gives plenty good image quality and full frame will likely give you noticeably better image quality if you're gonna pixel peep/shoot in very low light/shoot in harsh lighting conditions/print very large prints often but for the majority of scenes (at least for myself personally) I don't think either would make that much of a difference.

Indeed, there is a bit of a price premium on the Fuji APS-C system for their bodies and lenses but have always found them to be really high quality. Never have felt the desire to go bigger.

    • I have many Fujifilm bodies, but I still grab the Canon or the new Lumix bodies when I need good autofocus.
