Hi there, I was wondering if anyone can kindly recommend me a good quality digital camera for my 3 year old to use?
I've look on JB Hi-Fi and Amazon - not really sure which one is good.
Thanks :)

from that list, VTech Kidizoom Duo FX, usually big-w have it on special.
Is OP looking for a toy camera or a real camera?
yes they are.
Thanks, I did have a look at Amazon, just not sure of the quality of the photos.
First Digital Camera for a 3 year old
Seems like a fair swap to me.
Thanks for the recommendation, may i ask if the photos are nice and clear?
I got my 4 year old this one https://www.amazon.com.au/Lyiazsoy-Children-Camcorder-Silico…
Works well and he enjoys it.
OP is specifically asking for a 3 year old.
By the time OP decides on a camera, the kid will be 4.
Fair point…
Thanks i think someone above also mentioned this, may i ask if the photo quality is good?
Is that a typo? Did you mean 13 year old?
I wouldn't even give my good-quality digital camera to a 13-year-old. LOL
I fear the next post may be recommend me a photo editing app for a 3 year old?
haha someone didn't like your comment :P
@boomramada: Just went a step too far… but seriously, if Instagram is still a thing when the kid reaches 13 they'll want to have content ready for posting
Why isn’t a preschooler eligible for educational pricing on photoshop?
Definitely 3 year old :)
My son uses my phone. In daycare they use an Ipad which is pretty smart
Some crayons and paper works best for 3yo
Definitely. They need to start developing their fine motor skills before they start school.
Old phone?
.
lol.. you expect a 3 year old to take photos?
It is possible according to the internet.
An iPhone 4?
Get a second hand point and shoot camera, it will be better than any of the kid cameras being made now.
My son started to use a Sony DSC-N2 when it was close to 5, he is 7 now and still uses it.
This!
I'm into photography, so I guess my 3yr old has caught it from me. I just gave him my old point a shoot camera I used from over 10yrs ago, I only needed to buy a new battery for it and it works fine.
He seems to enjoy it, has been pretty rough with it, but it still worked until he dropped it on the lens.
I've been meaning to try to fix it, but he's already moved on to play with other stuff and the odd occasion where he wants to take a picture, he just asks to borrow my phone.
Thats so cute!
I have no idea where my old camera is.
I agree with you, the old point is shoot is better quality than childrens cameras. I did have a look on JBHIFI for a cheap point and shoot but they seem to be back in fashion lol.. also cant seem to find one which could take a tumble, thinking a bit more bulky with a case or something hmmm..
Username checks out
Was recently looking for a small digital camera for my kids to use, and the 2nd hand price of them has gone crazy. People selling those Canon IXUS for $200+
Such is the power of trends
I would have otherwise suggested an old Ixus, as that's what my kids had. And luckily they managed to not break any of them, so I've been taking advantage of the latest trend and selling those 20 year old cameras in eBay lately.
yeh, they are back in fashion lol -_-
My daughter has had the Vtech kidizoom one for ages, seems to work well, does what it says on the box.
3 years old, leaving it a bit late there OP.
By 3 your child should be familiar with photoshop and be considering transitioning to a multi-lens device.
Just order an Iphone 16 now :)
3 Year old, Get him a cash converter camera
Heaps of cameras for cheap so if it drops its fine plus heaps of settings
Give the kid your iPhone 14 when you're not using it.
I've now researched the topic and learned this is an actual thing, photography from age 3. Here's one that's highly-regarded as it has a touch screen: Kidamento Model K
Bought my 3 year old niece a Nikon Coolpix W100 a few years back as her first camera - it's been pretty much indestructable (it's also waterproof).
She's moved up to a slightly more advanced camera now but passed her 'old' Nikon on to her younger brother and it's still going strong.
Don't think they are still available new any more but you can still get a secondhand one pretty cheap (or something with similar qualities).
I just googled this, this camera definitely looks like it could take a tumble. Pity there are only 2nd hand ones >.<
Thanks for the message. i will try to see if they have an upgraded version of this camera :)
