  • I was getting errors when applying an accessory. I think the deal is exclusively for the laptop(?). Thanks TA. Legendary

  • Solid laptops, been using Thinkpads for 8-9 yrs.

    • which one ? E, T, P, or X series ?

      • T, work supplied one.

  • Will the 15% cashback work with the existing code on the lenovo website "SPRING" that gets automatically applied for other laptops eg: https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/p/laptops/yoga/yoga-pro-series/yoga-pro-7i-gen-9-(14-inch-intel)/83e2cto1wwau1 ?

  • Nice deal but do we hodl for a 20% shopback like it was a couple of weeks ago???

Please read the very last line of the OP in italics.

      • ohhh exclusive!! Nice deal!

They cut the corners as usual on the display (45% NTSC). It's priced the usual amount for this. The other specs are solid and the upgradability (RAM/SSD) is welcomed. If they provided a better screen (95-98%) then it would be a winner.

  • Looking for a laptop to use when away from my desktop. Spec wise this is good except for the screen. How bad is it in comparison to a LG 32UN88A monitor? Will I regret getting this?

Does it support video out over USB-C?

Without the 15% cashback I'd be really tempted to just spend an extra ~170 for this (https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/acer-14-sw…) with a much better screen (OLED, better resolution, 90Hz), better processor + iGPU. Battery life and build quality wise, I'd be surprised if the Lenovo is on par with the Acer, but I suspect they might be at least similar. Albeit the Lenovo might have user-upgradeable RAM, 16" vs. 14", and you can argue about the differences in warranty/after sale support.

Even with the 15% cashback which means the Lenovo is ~700, I'd still be thinking of spending the extra 300 as OLED really is a game changer. Not to mention the $997 of the Acer is actually cheaper as you get Flybuys points with officeworks, 5x if you have onepass, so ~5k Flybuys ~ $25, and at least 2% off using officeworks gift cards ~ $20.

I might be biased though, as I've had this same Acer laptop and have been very satisfied so far

    • Any issues? I have never really used Acer before

      • Not any major ones that I can think of. Battery life not as good as other laptops with ultra low power CPUs, but otherwise, pretty satisfied with my use case of <6hrs each time I take it outside. Screen is awesome. Keyboard is average, build quality better than I expected. Bloatware exists but not the worst, I changed the SSD to a 1TB, so I had to reinstall windows clean anyway, BUT it did get rid of the native Acer OLED care software and I haven't managed to get it back (didn't try too hard to do so though). So I'd recommend getting rid of bloatware as much as possible without reinstalling windows. Fingerprint unlock is nice, but my last laptop was from the early 2010s so this might be not a new thing.

    • but if my use case is 90% docked to external monitor, that OLED probably waste, right?

      • Probably yeah I guess? But I've been bitten by the OLED bug so, I don't really buy anything without OLED nowadays. A bit like after getting high refresh rate monitor; you can't really go back to 60Hz.

  • Could this run new games on it? Or is Integrated AMD Radeon™ 660M meaning definitely not?

    • +1

Scroll down to the games and check here

Some games at 720p low will get decent framerates.

      • Thanks mate, i'll probably pass, I think my current Lenovo is about the same. Do you know much it would cost to build a PC to play current games at at average to great performance at the best price. I'm guessing I could but all the parts and then get someone to build it for me as well. As that might be easier. All good if you can't help

A 1440p 60fps target can be had for ~$1200. That's accounting for the most demanding new releases that are terribly optimised. Obviously it'll do higher frame rates on competitive and casual titles very easily. An NVidia card can be had for $100-200 more with a 4070/super and would also perform well, but it it really depends if you care about ray tracing.

Id recommend checking out some other build guides on PCPartPicker, as there's plenty of ways to skin a cat.

@heef: I will! thanks that price doesnt scare me too much

Thanks for the heads up Tightarse!
Just bought one and it shows up as ready to ship.

    • I bought one too, QuarterPounder!
Cashback tracked and already received shipping tracking number.

      • Wow that's quick, when did you get yours - I'm still waiting for my tracking number (ships to Melbourne)

        • I received the email confirming the order, then 2 hours later an email with a courier tracking number. Received another email this morning, the courier has received the shipment information. This is in Sydney.

        • I ordered last Wednesday and it was delivered last Friday morning. I'm in Sydney.

      • I got a shipping tracking number that DHL says is invalid. No cashback tracking for topcashback yet, will wait up to 7 days till I make a claim if it doesn't appear.

Hi. Strange it didn't track, as the cashback count matches Lenovo's order total for the promo almost perfectly. I can only suggest it's likely because you had an Adblocker, Honey, or multiple tabs open on your desktop browser (or used Brave). Anyway, the good thing about these TA codes is that cashback is guaranteed as all sales are attributed to TCB. Please just lodge a claim and it will definitely be successful provided the goods aren't returned. Cheers.

          • @tightarse: Thanks TA, can confirm that I definitely have an adblocker and multiple tabs opened. Good to know there's confidence to be able to take up on the cashback offer.

            • @eooker: Well then you're extremely lucky, coz had it not been a TA code, a claim would have definitely been unsuccessful.

  • OOS now

  • Oos?

    • @sinnerman @ledgisv2

Yep. Incredible amount of sales, and definitely OzBargain'd.

      • Missed out. Do you know if similar deals coming anytime soon?

        • +4

Will always try to bring strong deals through Lenovo. Just not sure when though.

          • @tightarse: any new laptop deals for this weekend while others go crazy with the tv deals at jb or HN gift card cashback deals?

  • damm great deal

just wish there was one for a Legion 7i …

  • ahh missed out

  • It's back in stock, but the price is $917.

    • +3

No. That's one you 'build yourself' and need to wait on shipping from China. The one out of stock was pre-built and ready to ship from Sydney. Cheers!

  • Damn always miss the bargains , take 8 hours off of looking for a laptop deal and there it goes.

  • is it just me or is this laptop slow as (profanity). had a m1 mba with 8gb ram before

    • maybe too many bloatware? usually when i get new laptop i will fresh install windows from scratch format clean etc

      • I have ran windows 11 debloater on github. maybe i'm just too used to an ARM system

        • ok lets see what other think in the next week or so when all got theirs

          • @CyberMurning: Did you check your settings for performance via power/battery?
So far, what I am noticing is quite fast:
Boot - I was expecting a much quicker boot too but it is okay
Right click on apps/desktop - It is a little slower on "Best Power Efficiency" settings , I have a 0.5 seconds delay when I right click on an app but when I switch it to "Performance", it is better
            Installation - Fast
