Accor Plus Explorer 1-Year $279 (30% Discount) - Includes 1 Stay Plus Night @ Accor Plus

190

Not as good as previous 50% off deals and only comes with 1 stay plus night unlike some overseas country based options.
Still might be good if you are able to redeem for a decent hotel.

Edit: The NZ one is also $279 but in NZD and might be a better deal: https://www.accorplus.com/nz/benefits/

  • My limited research indicated that the two-night VPN deals were kaput as well.

  • No expiry date?

Nice… it looks like all Accor Plus explorer is 30%.
I found HK is cheapest HKD 1,112 (AUD $212) then Indonesia IDR 2,366,000 (AUD $228).

What are the chances of us commenting at the same time. Looks like you answered my question and I'll renew via my Hong Kong account.

      Cheers

      Nice find :)

      Philipines is cheapest I think.

      PHP 6,930 (~A$184)

      • Do you need to give any details from these countries when signing up? Phone number/address etc., or is it just you need to use a VPN to access the registration page and can use Aussie details?

        • When I did the Malaysian one, used VPN and put an address of a hotel. Made sure phone number and email were correct though.

          • @neil: If my Australian accor plus has lapsed.

Do I still get the status point as long the email and phone number matches?

            • @latte: Not sure. If you have an Australian account and then signing up for another cheaper country I would think that would set off some flags however, finding the cheaper country is a well known "hack" mentioned in travel blogs so possibly Accor don't care as any extra revenue is a positive to them.

          • @neil: Can you buy in, say, the Philippines and then change your address to Australia after that?

            • +1

@Shoocat: Yeah you can change all of your details but I don't think they ever send anything in the mail. It's all done via the app or website.

I signed up a couple years ago doing one of the Hong Kong deals. I can't renew now unless I go back to the Hong Kong website which indicates 1112 HKD. I believe that will be about $210 AUD including conversion fees.

Anyone ever renewed via another country and had any issues?

    • I ended up having to just do HK again. It's cheaper anyway and hasn't affected my experience.

    • Just renewed my Indo membership without any issue, from here in Australia. Went to get the OP deal and was told my membership is in Indonesia as I signed up in Bali couple of years ago and got transferred to IDR was $229, sweet!!

  • going to Sofitel Fiji early Nov, unfortunately they have downgraded their dining discounts to only 25% pp rather than 50% otherwise I would do this. Accommodation already booked through Agoda, so can't use the free night for that stay. Not sure when I would be able to use the free night

We're not mad if you don't get this you know

      • -2

        yeah, thanks for that, Champ

  • How do you search accomodation to know that you'll be able to use the 1 night free before signing up? Looking at 3 nights in Nov in Mondrian Hong Kong.

Website is telling me to sign up to Accor Live Limitless for a discount. I used to have Accor A a long time ago. Seems like they keep on changing the name of these memberships??

    • Dw. Asked Accor Customer Service and its not available for that hotel.

    • I think there is a thread on the forums?

  • Get this or wait for 50% off membership if I need it by mid-Nov?

    • they usually do the 50% off deal around feb/march, so if you need by mid Nov you might be better off with this. I missed the 50% off earlier this year as I wasn't sure if I was going to stay at Sofitel in Fiji or not this year. (we are, but I booked through Agoda for a very good price) Turns out they have downgraded the dining discount anyway, so now only 25% flat. I am unsure whether to take up the deal or not. I emailed Sofitel in Fiji to see how much it would cost to join through them to compare the price, so waiting on their reply. This deal finishes on 29th of this month

  • I've just received a call from their marketing, inviting me to join at this promotion rate. She said there will be 10 days cooling off period if I want to cancel. Within that 10 days, I can use the benefit, including the free night. It seems too good to be true though. Has anyone tried this?

    • +1

      From Accor website:

The Accor Plus membership comes with a 10 day cooling off period when the membership is purchased via telephone, and only if the benefits have not been used.

      • Thanks!! As expected, too good to be true.

  • Does anyone have experience using the dining and drinks discount? Seems perfect as I'm about to do a few trips in Australia and Asia. Is it as easy as just showing your accor card at participating restaurants? Is it hard to know if they'll accept it?

Any feedback would be great, if I can get 50% off for my wife and I it'd be amazing and well worth the purchase, including a free night.

    • +1

I used the dining discount at "The sebel, Kiama" few months ago, it was as easy as show the card get 50% off.

    • I don't think I found anywhere yet that doesn't accept it for at least one of the restaurants & for all of the meal times, but if you have particular places in mind its best to email them to check.
For example, one of the Accor hotels in Bangkok accepts it at the main restaurant but they also had a Michelin star restaurant which only gave 25% off (which was still an great price).
