    • +2

Raise the price for two weeks and then drop it back to the old price. Hey, it's on sale!

Rugs a million guy: "Sniffs They grow up so fast!"

  • +4

So.. how do people eat this ? Actually how is it served ?

    • +9

      Sliced and pan fried

        • +6

          Because it tastes better?

What are you suggesting, eating it straight out of the can? Be my guest.

        • +3

It's merely to trick your mind into thinking that the coloured blubbery mass before you, is actually an edible food product.

It's also like a ritual, or a culinary embalming process, if you will.

    • +11

Or you can cut into cubes and throw in with the usual mix for fried rice.

    • +7

slice into cuboids. fry for a few minutes each side. serve with eggs, cabbage, rice, or whatever. just note that it's very salty and therefore needs something 'plain' to go with it

    • +10

My go to for a lazy lunch, sliced spam, kimchi and a packet of Shin Ramyun

    • +8

Sliced and pan fried on a fresh white bread sandwich with lots of butter.

      Spam Fried rice

      Spam Musubi (like sushi)

There is a massive amount of ideas, Google it. It’s incredibly popular in Korean and most other Asian countries. Popular everywhere really.

I think the salt reduced one is the best, normal is too salty for me.

The Turkey one is decent as well, milder flavour but less fat so it doesn’t fry up as well. Texture is a little bit different as well.

        • You cook it for your own sanity.

    • +3

      Kimchi fried rice.

    • with a spoon from the tin.

      Well, there's egg and bacon; egg sausage and bacon; egg and spam; egg bacon and spam; egg bacon sausage and spam; spam bacon sausage and spam; spam egg spam spam bacon and spam; spam sausage spam spam bacon spam tomato and spam;

        Lovely Spam! Wonderful Spam!

      • some Forrest Gump vibes in that one..

      • Eggs are off

    • You can just cut some off and eat it.

  • I think Costco around the same price in store? Happy to be corrected if not.

Not really a deal to be honest, used to be low $3.xx on sales.

    • +3

Cost only has the “classic” version in 3 packs. I think it’s around $13. So a bit over $4.00

Its “regular” price is $6.80 now. Which is bullshit. Most specials I’ve seen over the last year or so have been around $5.00 - $6.00

Jeeeezus, tough crowd. Nobody's seen Waterworld before? It was the food of choice of the Smokers.

I knew there are many spam consumers, but I didn't know they do it so gladly.

  • how about plumrose spice ham?

    • Personally I avoid plumrose. Tried it once to try and was very disappointed. Tried it again in case I was wrong the first time and was disappointed again.

  • Peanut butter, cheese, spam and toast here I come.

      What in Lords name..

    • You have committed crimes against Skyrim and her people. What say you in your defense? Nothing

      • Oblivion is better.

        • Agreed.

  • +1

Even if I were extremely poor on the dole I wouldn’t eat this dog food, and I wouldn’t donate it to the homeless either, they at least deserve Devon as a minimum.

    • +2

Why? It's just Minced pork shoulder. It's no different to most other deli meats. Any Ham you buy that isn't carved directly off the bone (think Christmas ham) is basically the same thing.

      • +2

My local butcher regularly sells minced pork for 4.99/kg and as questionable as that meat may be it isn't this tinned processed "meat".

  • Yuck… you guys actually eat this crap?

    Eat real food…

  • Time for hot pot

  • +2

Just be aware Spam has 26.8% fat, so that's like eating pure fat every 4th mouthfull.

    • Pop a pill of Creon and your body will break it down quicker.

    • +5

      So just take 3 mouthfuls.

      • +1

Yeah, or if you want more, just make sure to dump out every 4th spoon into the bin. You know what? You can go ahead and just dump out the rest of the can.

    • +1

      Bacon is 50% fat.

Pork, in general, used to be a very fatty meat in Australia but in recent times pigs have been bred for lean meat which doesn't taste as good.

    Username checks out @HamBoi69

Ham in a can better than chicken in a can.

  • Pineapple n spam on pizza. Wonderful combination

    • +3

      Ham would be even better.

      • Ham n spam

        • Thank you ma'am

  • +1

It's good when you don't have an appetite

    • so is water. If i have to fry something it's going to be eggs… with a side of spam.
actually nah, wouldn't touch this. I'd hold out for my avo toast during the apocalypse.

  • +2

Why do i get the impression that if I ate this daily I'd die younger than I should, and the cause of death would be cancer…

    • The preservatives will keep you looking young even after death

      • ..and then you can be recycled into a more nutritious version of SPAM

        • Hmmm… Feed the pigs with the body?

  • "Stir diced Spam® Classic into scrambled eggs." No thanks!

    • +1

      Way to destroy nutrition.
      Mixing protein with notein

  • is this safe for pets?

    • Should be, if they are smart enough to not eat it.

  • Use by date? /s
