This game is currently exclusive to PS5

      • +2

What are you talking about, this game runs almost flawlessly on the PS5, unlike many other games.

        • +4

Exactly why its one of the first games confirmed for PS5 Pro.

        • +3

Performance mode looks like garbage on a 4K screen.

        • What games run poorly on ps5?

      • -5

When your mouth runs faster than your brain.

This game run only on PS5 and it run flawlessly.

      • +1

        Wrong game.

        • +2

OP opened up a whole can of worms with that one

          • +3

            @noscopedJFK:

a whole can of worms mako energy with that one

Brought to you courtesy by Shinra Corp., exclusively FIRST on any PowerPlayStation

    • -2

Super Nintendo exclusive on Nintendo consoles.

  • +1

Tempted by this price for a physical copy.

Probably this will come down to sub $35 by chrimbo? (Similar to remake?)

    • +5

Yeah happy to wait a little longer for the price to drop further!

    • +2

Doubtful unless you want to wait a while, if this game gets a PS5 Pro enhancement they will bump the price up again and it will stay up for a while

      • That’s some intense FOMO….

  • Literally just ordered this last night rip. Managed to get credit "for your next order shipped from Amazon AU" at least..

    • If it hasn't shipped, you can cancel it for a refund.

      • +1

Considered it but my original order says arriving Tuesday while placing a new one says arriving Wednesday and I'm really impatient after just finishing FF7 remake yesterday lol.

        • +1

You will love this game but it can be a bit fatiguing to 100% complete each area.
Enjoy the game as much as you can..
However in saying that the super boss of this game is one of the best super boss fights I have ever played

  • Thanks OP’

Just to note: it’s free shipping (for goods sold and shipped by Amazon AU) for most items > $59

    • I'm curious to your response but to add a bit of clarity to the above the super boss requires you to clear all of the areas side quests known as protorelic

  • -7

Honestly not as good as Gran Turismo 7.

    • Is good, but I agree, it’s somewhere behind Gt7, Concord and LoU2.

  • +6

    I'll bite at $39.

    • +5

      I’ll make it a meal at $25

      • +2

        10 bucks should be ok

        • +3

I'd buy that for a dollar!

  • +1

I'll would like to play this on my shiny new PS5 Pro, but it got no disc drive.

  • +1

It was worth it even at full price, definitely a contender for game of the year.

  • +2

    GOTY insane price

    • Really GOTY? Apparently it has not sold well that's why price drop so quickly.

If this continues there might not be any more Ff7 remakes….

      • Not sold well coz PS5 exclusive and sequel. But 100% guarantee GOTY nominee and likely winner.

An amazing experience especially for genuine gaming enthusiasts

      • Also FF7 Remake Part 3 is already in the works and can be considered the master work of some of the key original creators

  • day 1 chump over here having slight regrets
dont get me wrong, its worth full price. still here we are, lol.

  • +2

The story in this game is nearly completely incoherent. If i hadn't played the original i'm not sure i would have had any idea what was happening. I still enjoyed the game but the story has gone from one of the best aspects to one of the worst aspects.

Also the FSR implementation in this game is pretty ugly. This is probably the only game i've played so far where i imagine the PS5 Pro will give it a substantial uplift to it's looks.

Still a fun game but my god the narrative is bad.

  • Is there any DLC planned for this game as a paid add on?

    • +1

They said no to DLC this time as they wanted to move straight to the next game and didn't need to familiarise themselves with a new system (PS5). That was before release though.

  • +1

I've played the FF7 Remake but I really didn't enjoy my time. It's was a massive slog for me and I just didn't enjoy how slow it was in progressing the story. Visuals were amazing but just wasn't fun to play.

Will I like this game? Is the pacing better and is the combat expanded more? I'm really hoping to enjoy the series as a Action RPG fan

    • +2

I think your enjoyment will be heightened or influenced if you’ve have played the original and hold some nostalgia to the adventures of the characters. (I played the original Ps1 with fondness back in the day. As a result, Remake was a trip for me, and in turn held - its in high regard by myself and many others in similar positions)

There is an element of the game design and references that expects the player to recall and compare the adventure/ sounds/ music with the original 1997 version.

      • +2

Never played ffvii and just about finished chapter 14/18 for Remake.

Very much enjoying it. I cwn see how some of the quests can be a bit slow.

    • +2

I'm a huge fan of the final fantasy series, and played the original ffvii more times than I can count.

I grabbed rebirth on preorder after mostly enjoying the remake. Life got in the way and I've only recently begun playing.

Overall I am not enjoying it as much as remake.
The story telling is lame. The characters and dialogue are embarrassing save for a few moments.

I'm going to finish it out of obligation to nostalgia, but if you're on the fence, and have a backlog of games, I'd wait until it's on sale for lower.

    • +2

If you didn't like Remake then I wouldn't recommend this one. It's Remake on steroids. It is, in my opinion, one of the greatest games ever made. But it is just like Remake, only heavily expanded.

    • I find people who find it slow haven't properly engaged with the combat system. Might help if play on Story/Easy mode
