Boost Won't Deliver SIM to PO Box

I want to order a 12 month SIM for my phone, but the Boost website won't let me send it to a PO Box.

I only have a PO Box - postal services do not deliver to my address (on a farm, creek crossings). For these situations I usually have some parcels ordered to a friend's house - but Boost website is saying I have to present my drivers licence when the SIM is delivered. I've literally never heard of this before. It seems a crazy level of security and intrusion into my life.

When I first joined boost 3 years ago, I got the SIM delivered to a PO Box no problem, what's changed?

Any suggestions for a way around this to get a 12 month SIM?

Yeah, buy one in a store.

  • Have the purchase made in a friends name who can sign for it, then when you activate it put in your name.

Or buy from one of the 3rd party stores with discount that are often listed here.

  • Price match it with OW? And pick it up from the store ?

Australia Post will provide a "Suite" address to use instead of a PO Box - this service cost something like $30 a year.

    Eg, if you had:

PO Box 7277 Big City Post Office, they'll give an address like:

Suite 7277 shop number 22 Big City Post Office.

These work for shipments that don't allow PO Boxes.

    • Thanks I hadn't heard of that before.

PO Box Plus service is no longer available as of January 18 2024 unfortunately.

Subscribers will still be able to use the service until their next po box renewal

      • OH, damn.

I use this service (a lot) so this is terrible news!

Hmm, was there any mention of any replacement services?

I retract my statement! Just asked those in the know and they did a review and realised it was a essential service! So fingers crossed it is here to stay.

I use it from time to time to, our family share a po box.

          • @Slinky0111: Ahh, good to hear.

We don't get street delivery in my area so we have no other practical options (that we're aware of) so very happy to hear this.

    • I am in a similar position as you where unfortunately PO box is the only option for deliveries.

I have a Aus Post Suite and it has been working well for me for just about all online shopping.

Though I have come across some a-hole online vendors that even try to stop you using an Aus Post suite.

  • Is device capable of an ESIM?
I’ve bought boost “Starter Kits” of 365 days also on eBay, usually discounted off face value of sim.
Both were fine, no issues with delivery.

but Boost website is saying I have to present my drivers licence when the SIM is delivered.

That is correct, you have to present ID when receiving a sim card from Tesla/boost.

Get it delivered to the post office, and go in and show them ID when you pick it up. Go into store and buy a boost sim, then recharge online.

LOL an intrusion into your life!?

Have it addressed to your physical address.
Collect it at your nearest local Post Office.

use a parcel collect address - free, just create an online Australia Post account, which you might already have, given you have a PO Box.
