My 12 year old Karcher K2 developed a tiny crack in the piston manifold. So started looking for a new Karcher and picked up this refurbed K4 last Sunday. Product arrived on Tuesday in good condition, was a little dirty which is acceptable for a refurb that's $200 cheaper than what others are selling.

It looks like there is a 12 month warranty.

My K4 has shit itself already, just after a year.

    • That's rough, were you able to get it sorted under warranty? When I was looking to buy the K4 brand new I saw it had a 5 yr warranty (+2 years extra if you register online)

      • Mine was 3 years old and just got replaced. I believe policy just changed and you have to go direct to them and they have first right to repair it.

My K4 is now leaking.. 2 years old used 50 times or less. Cheap cr@p

    • Same. Warranty is 5 + 2 at least.

      • I bought thru qantas with a panasonic xxxl fryer in late 2021 which shit itself too. Why does aldi stuff last longer these days and why does my vortex airfryer cr@p all over panasonic

Same on my Karcher, and they somehow managed to find a size of O-ring that no one else uses so my only option was to buy an outrageously overpriced washer/O-ring set with similarly overpriced shipping and, I'm guessing, a month or two wait.

I bought a Bosch pressure washer instead, and it came with an adapter so I can still use the Karcher accessories.

If they backed their products and offered a decent warranty on these "refurbs", I'd bite.

But 12 months is piss poor. I'd rather pay an extra $190 and get a brand new one with 7 year warranty coverage. You have no clue what life these refurbs had, and 12 months limited warranty shows you just how much you should rely on them.

    • putting it that way makes sense buying new - otherwise this with 2 or 3 year warranty would be ok.

Go Ozito all the way .

Even Aldi offer 5 years warranty on there's.

They've got it coming up on the 21st Sept for $149.

    • I've got an old aldi workzone one from about 7-8 years ago that's still kicking and I abuse it lol

I actually want it to die at this stage so I can upgrade but it's still trucking

  • Picked it up on Friday, arrived on Tuesday. Jeeeeeeebus. How far did you travel to collect this pressure washer?

  • I always drain my pump on my pressure washer after use, that is turn the tap on and leave the machine on while keeping the trigger down till you can hear its pumping air, then turn it off straight away.

Own Ortiz, it's broke 1 month before warranty end (I think two of three years), Bunnings replaced with new, no questions asked.

Works a charm for 1/4th the price

  • After my circa 10 year old Gerni with a brass pump died there was no way I was going to buy plastic crap that lasted a year or 2 (if lucky). Got a Kranzle (also off Discount Trader). Not cheap but I expect another 10 years at least. Full brass pump - very hard to find these days.

    • I am looking to buy one, have never used but moving into a house so need one for patio, driveway and car wash. Which one would you recommend ?

      • I just got the K 1050 TS. It’s a little bit more fiddly because I was used to a hose reel but I couldn’t justify the price jump to get one that had it.

Everything is so well built. The connections are all metal. So much better than my gerni.

Been looking into getting a pressure washer and doing a bit of research, Karcher has developed a pretty ordinary reputation. Was at the hardware shop yesterday and saw one sitting behind the desk and asked if they get a lot of refunds, he said in the past few years they’ve seen heaps more come back. He also said their warranty service has improved, that they’re much more likely to just let them do a straight swap than they used to be. But yeah it seems like they’re probably one to avoid.
