I'm looking to buy a reasonably priced SUV and happened to come across a 2024 Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Ultimate AWD for $39,990 in Brisbane which is cheaper than the mid-level model Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Elite $43,190.
Any insights from current owners on performance, reliability or any issues with the car they are now having, would be much appreciated.

Yes, Chery is a very trustworthy brand. Oh, except when they just made cheap asbestos laden copies of other vehicles last time they were sold in Australia. Oh, and when they just packed up and left last time they were selling cars in Australia. Apart from that I'm sure they are top notch.

What's the appeal? For that money you'd get a mint secondhand Toyota/Lexus with change to spare.
Of the chinese brands, Chery has the worst reputation. Sell em cheap, but build em cheaper.

Id also add that if you are buying one, just get the cheapest version. Why spend the extra to get all the flashy stuff when your obviously trying to save a buck on your motoring. The engine etc is likekly to be reliable enough, its all the corner cutting with the flash tech thatll be an issue.

So OP, if you like it, buy it. Just make sure you get the 2024 build not the 2023.
And forget resale value !
