          @Mr Bob Dobalina: Aussie design scrimps on insulation. SOME insulators don't do a proper job* Large single pane windows transfer heat (either way), Doors and windows insufficiently seal. Tough times and expensive electricity take care of the rest.

          • When we bought this place, the floor had no insulation and the ceiling void relied on R1.3 roof blanket. There were Pink Batts installed (with gaps), but only as far as you could see from the manhole.

      My house in SA regularly drops below that in winter (even early Spring) despite redoing the insulation lol.

    I bought this on AliExpress for about $5 and it still works when the temperature is below 10 degrees (like today). This is for measuring body surface temperature, if you want to measure other surface temperatures, you should buy one like this (-50~600°C).

  These are just garbage in general. Sometimes you get significantly different readings within 1cm of each other on a forehead, and other times you get the same reading whether you point it at a forehead or the wall behind.

  I've had this one for ~5 years with zero issues. I also have a normal thermometer in case of any doubts which I've never had to use.

  Get a proper on tuned for human/skin surface reading. Something where it's tuned for reflective / permissive factors.
