New iPhones available for preorder tonight at 10pm. Unfortunately all models are excluded from cashback. However Cashrewards seems to be offering a bonus for device trade in from 10pm. Definitely a strange offer, but could be worth trying if you are ordering anyway. Maybe a Cashrewards rep could clarify? Nothing about the offer on the website.

I’ve never done a trade in, but I think you can always take it back if they don’t accept the condition
I did one yesterday. An iPhone 12. Took it into an Apple Store. Trade in was complete in 5 mins. Had some usual wear and tear and they had no issues. No cracks or dents, just a few scraps.
How much
iPhone 12 128GB, $280
How is this a bargain?
You'll get a much better price selling it just about anywhere instead of Apple.
Trade in prices are often quite competitive and saves a lot of hassle. Apple also doesn't care about degraded battery capacity whereas selling a device like that will be harder.
Yeh they only care about swollen battery and physical damage. My iPhone 8’s ear speaker stopped working, so I just traded in at Apple.
Because they caused in the first place lmao
https://mobilemonster.com.au/ are these guys legit to trade-in your phone for better value ?
Yes they are legit, have used them a few times. They can be a bit slow though, especially around new product time when everyone wants to trade in.
Yes they have a much better trade-in value then others
thenthan others
Wow so any criteria:
As New Condition
No signs of wear (as new condition)
No scratches or markings
Must have the complete box and manual
Must have a battery health level of a least 85%When you compare a device with poor battery health, Apple has a better trade in price
Wow. I have an iPhone 14 Pro and the battery health is 81%.
I haven't used/abused the phone at all and it's otherwise in perfect conditions.
I couldn't imagine anyone having 85% battery unless it's a near-new phone like last year's iPhone 15/Pro.
My iPhone XS max is also at 81% and a lot older than your 14 Pro.
My 14 pro is 22 months old and at 86%
@digitalane: nice! you must be doing something right vs. me :)
@tommypickles: More by luck than judgement!
Interesting…
They offer me only $180 vs Apple $195…
Good news: Thankfully, I recorded the Apple Trade-in price prior to the September 10 event. This will be an important learning lesson for next year.
Bad news: Unfortunately, the Apple Trade-in price has dramatically dropped $175 within 4 days.
81% battery at 29 August 2024
81% battery at 13 September 2024
$845 at 29 August 2024 — Apple Trade-in
$675 at 13 September 2024 — Apple Trade-in (four days later)
$770 at 13 September 2024 — MobileMonster 'working' condition (as can't do New because it's below 85%).You gotta be quick never leave it to last minute
@WwDesi: Yes, sure. My rationale for waiting longer was:
1. there was not absolutely certainty an iPhone would be announced on September 10, only a safe bet
2. it would be painful to not have a phone for further weeks/months if it wasn't announced that date
3. there was an assumption that Apple trade-in prices had already factored in a price drop tied to the iPhone event announcement
4. in conclusion, I had no data to support any of the above assumptionsSo instead, I cautiously noted prices knowing I might lose out but that I'll have prepared for future. And now I share that information to you, the OZB public.
Have used several times and got a price of 1010 for 14 pro 256 the night before the announcement :)
Yep, reliable/trusted. Done quite a few ipads/iphones with them. They seem to vary a bit when they say they need the box/accessories but upon asking they sometimes just email me saying phone is fine. Only downside is you need to find your own safe way to ship it to them (they'll pay postage though) whereas trading in with Apple can be easier as they provide packaging material at Auspost or you can bring it in store.
Will be good to know whether cashback trade in for iPhone only? as it says "any trade in"
was planning to trade in my apple watch s8 to get the series 10Is it possible to lock in the trade price before the event and use towards the purchase of the new iPhone?
The answer is a perhaps-maybe-possibly 'yes'. You can kickoff a trade-in on Apple website. Apple gives you a prospective price subject to inspection. They will then send you a box to ship your phone to have it assessed. The end-to-end of this is a few days/a week.
Whether or not they'll honour the price they gave though (outside of product defects) is a matter of experiment.
No I meant lets say they agree to what they offer, how do I use that to buy the new phone? Because the trade-in prices went down after the release of the iPhone 16.
You trade it in to Apple direct to get credit that you can then apply for your new iPhone purchase.
So following the previous suggestion, you could potentially kick off a mail-in with the higher price and received the credit for it to then apply to the pre-order (as you can apply gift cards to any Apple order, regardless of pre-order or in-stock etc).
Does that help?
Got a trade in price from Mobile monster for my 12 pro max 256GB
$560 if battery is at least 85%
$520 if battery less than 85%
$465 from Apple trade in value which was $580 a week before announcement.Appreciate the data points! It appears we both experienced a 20% price drop of Apple trade-in prices post-iPhone announcement event.
Apple iPhone 14 Pro 256gb
81% battery at 29 August 2024 & 13 September 2024
$845 at 29 August 2024 — Apple Trade-in
$675 at 13 September 2024 — Apple Trade-in (four days later, 20% less value)
$770 at 13 September 2024 — MobileMonster 'working' condition (battery below 85%)Apple iPhone 12 Pro 128gb
75% battery at 29 August 2024 & 13 September 2024
$365 at 29 August 2024 — Apple Trade-in
$290 at 13 September 2024 — Apple Trade-in (four days later, 20% less value)
$450 at 13 September 2024 — MobileMonster 'working' condition (below 85%)
I have iPhone14 Pro 512GB 85% battery. Apple is offering me $750 trade in with iPhone 16 Pro.
Mobile monster $960 in good condition or else $920.The difference in $210 matters for my pocket. The only issue I have is how do I swap data from my current phone to the new one and then send it to mobile monster?
I don’t want the hassle of selling it myself online. (Bad experiences in the past)Are they safe to send my phone? Is delivery to the address free? Do they have a shop in Sydney to get instant valuation?
Back up your iphone on icloud. Just buy more storage if you dont have one and cancel it after transferring it to the new iphone.
Couple of months back I switched to moto G84 and I was able to transfer my all date from iphone to moto including whatsapp msgs, contact, txt msgs and much more. But didn't like the phone so returned it and now back to iphone 12 pro max.
These days its very easy to transfer date from iphone to android and vice versa.
Never experineced sending the phone for trade in. Aways manage to sell privately. I think they are legit so shouldn't be a problem. They'll send you a paid return satchel after you commit to sell to them. Thanks mate. I opted in for Australia post send with my own money as they are saying their satchel will arrives late.
iPhone 16 Peo order starts tonight. I hope I get to pick up one tomorrow and send the phone to MM on Monday.Satchel has only ever arrived in time once out of maybe 5 or 6 trade ins for me.
Anyone here knows if Apple runs a monthly instalment program if I directly buy iPhone 16 Pro from them?
Yes from GE money. Interest free but has $7.95pm fees. Not too sure the exact amount but there's definitely a monthly fees.
If you've HSBC credit card then you can do it from JB with no fees interest free upto 12 months. I've done before.
That’s great. I already have Latitude card and paying $10.95 a month for my other white goods.
I am hoping to get this deal.
Sadly I can’t do mobile monster as I lost the original iPhone 14 Pro box :(
Do they require box as well? Have you asked them?
It’s on the instructions list on their website. I could try calling them tomorrow to check. My issue is if I send them the phone they might not pay me the $960 and offer a lower price.
Now I’m thinking of trying the office works trade in deal.
Try to sell your mobile in private. Might take a while but will get more money.
Rest you can call them and get more info for trade-ins.
For my phone at least it's a $40 difference between "As New" and "Working". Not too bad but worth asking if they really need the box.
Just got a response that they will not require the original box but gave me tons of instructions on shipping and to take insurance. I’m not sure how much it will be for express shipping plus insurance from Sydney to Melbourne.
Also, could you guys please suggest which box to buy for my iPhone 14 Pro? I’ve been looking into Australia post website can’t figure out anything.
Box + express shipping satchel etc.Help me please
Any box will do. I have historically used a small cardboard box (whatever I happened to receive from Amazon or eBay purchases) and some bubble wrap.
I preordered the iphone 16 Pro from office works hoping it will be there to pick up on 20th September.
I’ll transfer everything from iPhone 14 Pro to 16 Pro and express ship it to mobile monster on 23rd September. Now I’m in search of a strong box to pack my iPhone 14 Pro. I never knew it would be this difficult to find a box. I went to Apple Store today even they can’t help.
Bubble wrap your mobile and send it in a prepaid padded satchel from Auspost. It'll be safe.
Thanks mate. Do I just express post it or get the insurance for $1000?
To lower the shipping expense, send it thru normal post and take tracking number and signature on delivery. That'll be your insurance as the adressed person has recieved your package. .
@Be Happy: Just found they gave a PO BOX number. Can you do a signature on delivery on them or just the tracking number?

MOBILE MONSTER
PO BOX 24
FLINDERS LANE VIC 8009Can you do a signature on delivery on them or just the tracking number?
Surely you can just ask the post office attendant that question, at the time of posting. Or just google it https://auspost.com.au/receiving/manage-your-mail/po-boxes-and-private-bags/use-a-po-box-for-parcels.!
@justanick: Usually if you opt for Signature on delivery then then the parcel is taken to the Auspost instead of leaving in PO Box and an email and message is sent to the linked PO box address to collect it from their closest Auspost centre.
Rest you can ask at the service counter.
I always give my parcel locker address for deliveries and if the delivery needs a signature then the postie takes it to my nearest post office for me to collect it and yes I've to sign it.@Be Happy: Thanks mate. I’ve asked this to Mobile Monster if they can take their bum to Australia post or I just miss the locked pricing deal.
When delivery guy requires my signature and I’m not available they take it to the nearest post office regardless. I usually get a card or an email.@justanick: Exactly! They'll take it to the nearest post office. You dont have to ask them as its a normal process. No one will send their expensive mobile's without confirmation of delivery.
If you live in Melbourne then you can take visit their shop at
Level 4/306 Little Collins St, Melbourne VIC 3000@Be Happy: Thanks a lot. Unfortunately I’m in Sydney.
@justanick: Given your risk aversion here maybe just do a trade in at Apple directly in store. Sure it’ll pay less and in Apple credit but at least you won’t have to stress about these risks.
Just FYI, I'm reading that Apple trade ins will go to $0 if ANY damage is found.
Can people please share their experiences?
