Samsung Galaxy S24+ 256GB $1187 ($500 off) with 60GB/Mth $59/Mth Month-to-Month Mobile Plan @ JB Hi-Fi (in-Store Only)

110

Long time lurker, first time poster.

NOTE: I have scoured the JB Hifi website for this deal but can't find it - but I definitely got it in store yesterday (Osborne Park, WA). So the link in the post is generic.

JB currently have an (completely unadvertised?) deal where if you buy an S24+ at ticket price and sign up to the $59 month to month plan on a new sim (no porting) they give you a $500 discount. But you can just cancel the plan straight away and receive a net $441 discount.

$1,687 plus $59 first month less $500 = $1,246 total.

There is a slightly larger discount for the S24 Ultra and slightly smaller one for the S24. I don't believe it's on the iphones. The JB guys first tried to sell me on the 12m/24m plans (which have a larger discount) before revealing there was also a discount with the month to month. They described it as a silly deal because the new iphones are releasing.

It was weird how they did it - they sign you up for the plan and direct debit of first $59, then apply the discount via a physical $500 gift card they pull off the rack at checkout, and had to get a manager out to approve.

See uploaded receipt

EDIT - this doesnt stack with the "bonus $200 gift card" they have on the website.

Why didn't you upload your receipt?

I will do - but it just looks like I had my own gift card. Also it has no mention of the $59 plan as that was done before we went to the checkout.
EDIT - Have uploaded the receipt.

  • 256GB Storage?

  • Were you able to use the $500 gc with the S24+ purchase?

    • Yes - it was described to me as a discount rather than a gift card. They just applied it via gift card at checkout.

If you have access to the Samsung Edu or EPP portal I think you can get the same price for a S24+ 256 jigglabytes without all the extra steps with this deal. If you buy through the Samsung Shop app you also get an extra 5% off.

I think that is more or less the cheapest deal atm (without having to sign up to a contract and get a credit check done).

Edit: That might be $50 more but it is less headache. They also have a $100 free accesories voucher as well.

    • Samsung Edu or EPP portal are 1359.20
Pretty sh*t for a crap site that wants me to put in my email every click.

Galaxy plus models are worth $850 tops. Samsung are absolutely taking the piss with their RRP.

Yeah sure , so is Apple.

100% especially with no snapdragon chip! Kidding themselves.

S24 and S24+ is not worth that much since they are using exynos CPU which is inferior to Snapdragon. Hope they can use Snapdragon all the way like S23 series in their next gen.

I don't get all the comments about Snapdragon vs Exynos…

I've always used an Exynos and it far exceeds any need I have/plays any game I want etc.

What are people doing with their phones that they require such bleeding edge tech? Video editing? Machine learning? I just don't get it.. most people realistically are just texting people, playing basic games or looking up where to eat etc.

    • Hope you still keep your opinion after watching this comparison:

Exynos version with shorter battery life, higher temperature and lower performance and you are paying the similar price to Snapdragon version.

If I'm comfortable making little sacrifices, then I'll get a $600 Motorola. If I'm paying $1200 then I want the best chip.

  • Stack with Spend Over $300 & Get $30 OFF?

  • OK gonna go in and try this in nsw. wish me luck..

    • Yep no problems getting this. So excited i forgot to use my perks.

  • Will this work for the 512GB S24+?

  • Update to my previous comments/question: We used this at Osborne Park in WA and purchased 2x S24+ 512GB phones, got the $500 voucher taken off each, plus they have us another 2x $200 vouchers to use another time.
