I have noticed the Price of many WERA kits skyrocketing on amazon lately where historically amazon has always been the go to place to get cheap WERA tools.
what do you think is this the end of a WERA?
or will they return?

Certainly better than most of what's available from Bunnings.
Bunnings only sells single use tools.
You can get Kincrome at bunnings - goes alright for most people.
Although come to think of it, I think I did break one torx impact driver bit I bought from Bunnings to use on an exhaust flange on literally the first use, had to try use the broken bit for the second use, which worked… then I got a refund
@MrFrugalSpend: Repco's own brand stuff is decent too, and has a lifetime warranty (provided you're not trying to do something you shouldn't)
I've got a couple of screwdriver and torx/hex sets from them, very happy.
@sponson: +1
Over 300 stores Australia wide with a lifetime warranty
All you have to do is walk in and they replace it straight away provided they have it on the shelf
Bunnings sells wera
@mapax: Yep I got Bunnings to pricematch Amazon and was so glad I invested i decent screwdriver set
@madseason: Nice. My local Bunnings never wants to price match Amazon.
Stop being a smartarse, Bunnings sells very good brands as well.
Wera look nice. That sucks people in.
Wera's an ozbargain cult, that probably sucks people in more.
I've got a few pieces, nice, but I also have plenty of cheaper tools too that are fine for a bit more than occasional use, probably adequate for most. There's something to be said though for the "feeling" of using a well branded tool, if not in actual use then at least in the mind.
Check out Project Farm
Hey, thanks for this.
Very insightful video.
This was a rather salient comment posted:
Project Farm taught me a thing: The cheapest things aren't worth the trouble, and the most expensive aren't worth the money. The mid-tier you find good tools that don't rip your wallet.
OP - Did you make up this post just because you thought up "End of a WERA?" and thought that is so clever, how can I tell this pun to as many people as possible… I know, I'm going to post a poll on OzB?!
Well as a bargain site, a lot better than posts with some political bent, believing that some random idea from some random on the internet will sway our political beliefs, which seems to be trending ATM. š
I'm not knocking the post - OP probably has a career at the infamous "NT News" with headlines like that
It's up there with some of their work:
"Abduckted" for the stolen duck
"The Poogitive" for the bikie that was chased by cops and landed face first in manure when caught
"On the Hiss" for the snake stuck in a beer can
"Boners are Better at Hungry Jacks" - for the guy who accidently exposed himself at Hungry Jacks because he'd taken too much Viagra before going down for his dinner
"Sadelaide" when SA border closed
"What a Planker" for woman lying on a croc
"What a croc head" for the guy that was swimming with crocs deliberately
etc
Chris Lorax is that you ?
Option 4 - never bought, donāt care
.
the only time i thought to buy was when they go on limited time specials in most cases via amazon de
otherwise i couldnt justify
whats wera?
I have a few Wera tools, but Iām not fussed on buying more. Some tools I spend the extra on, like Torx and Allen keys or decent screwdrivers, but Wera have gone a little too āSnapOnā with the prices lately, and they are not that premiumā¦ Same as Wiha stuff, sure, itās āgoodā but Wiha have done the same thing lately and jacked their prices as wellā¦
We normally have a sale of Wera and Knipex every few months. The last one was during Prime week in July so itās hardly been that long to justify this much worry.
No doubt weāll see some sales around BF & Boxing Day, if thereās one between now and then then bonus.
Won't matter what price they are or how cheap they are….yes, they're high quality tools, but still won't be able to buy them when Amazon won't sell and won't deliver to rural areas….it's pointless no.matter how cheap they are
Why donāt you get them delivered to town? When I was rural I could try to get things delivered to the largish town ~120km away, or to a friend in the city and pick it up when I visited next.
I am in a largish town. Very large. Besides a metro postcode, I guess Amazon now consider me(and many others here) as being rural
Just wait for sales, they usually drop back down.
It's usually cheaper to get from Amazon DE/UK via AU, then Amazon AU directly.
Are Wera tools even that exceptional ?
