Best Cordless Stick Vacuum under $300 Just for Very Low Pile?

My PacVac corded thrift 650 vacuum cleaner I got for under $300 2 years ago I think nearly died or has died recently after I stupidly tried to use it while it was full of dirt. Motor sounded like it was dying then I got a very burnt smell like something was on fire, so I stopped it quickly before maybe electrical or fire danger was starting.

So now I am sorta in the market for a stick vacuum cleaner under $300.

Don't want to spend too much but also don't want trash as I have used the under $100 ones from Kmart and Big W before and they were pretty bad. Case scenario is very simple just low pile carpeted floors honestly it is just for my room nothing major usually just dust and occasional crumbs.

Cheaper is better but definitely avoiding the ultra budget category for now have wasted time and money there already. What is the current go to stick vacuums under $300 nowadays.

  • Shark IZ102 for $279 would be my pick. Happy with it.

    • Hmm wow having a look at the vacuum cleaner category for stick vacuums there really isn't much to choose from. Many have some sort of problem.

If the price is this close to a corded vacuum cleaner I think I might just go with another pacvac or similar and just take better care of it next time like emptying the dust bin more regularly.

I recommend something with a powered brush head, otherwise your carpet will never get properly cleaned. If you're OK with pre-owned you can easily find a Miele HX1 under $300; I picked my last one up for $120.

    • I guess used is a good way to go.

Where did you find one for $120? Facebook marketplace? ebay? gumtree? garage sale?

      • Cashies, haggled down from $150 due to a repairable fault

TBH, if I were you I'd try and find a 2nd handed Dyson with the power brush where the battery is dead. Then get a drill battery + adaptor for it. That shit will run forever lol.

    • Sounds amazing is it easy to do this does it just requiring buying the equipment or do you need to diy anything around it

      • It should all fit in together without any need for DIY. Do your research and just know there are risks to not using the geniune battery. I take no responsibilities.

    • Reckon you could give some hints as to what model Dysons to look for?
I've got a few Bosch batteries already, so would be very handy.

I don't really know which models specifically. I usually just go to the sunday markets around where I live (Paddy's Flemmington or Bankstown Raceway) and pick one from a pile of broken Dysons for like $30 and hope for the best lol.
