  • Sorry but does the banner say you get a blower plus the line trimmer extra battery and charger?

    • For redemption, you need to do it online when registration, choose either dual battery or blower.
For bonus gift, shop will give it to you directly in store or via delivery.

    • It looks like it is the line trimmer combo and either the blower or extra batteries.

    • Line trimmer + 4ah battery plus EITHER 2 x 5ah batteries OR blower

  • How does the bonus credit work?

    • In store credit you can use for buying things after afaik

  • Can anyone comment in the effectiveness of 36v mowers?

I’m coming from 240v corded and then a borrowed Ryobi petrol and am having a hard time making the jump. I do about 200m2, the 240v is the cheapest Bosch one and it does the job but can struggle when I’ve let the grass go a bit. The Ryobi is an absolute weapon but I don’t think they sell petrol anymore.

      Would like to know too

I guess corded one is much more powerful and stable, but the problem is always the cable could tangled.
I am still using a Kobalt 80v 53cm cordless one, it's a monster, and awesome. But it's nearly 10 years so I bought this Makita in case the Kobalt will die at any time.

I have a Ryobi 36v mower and a decent sized yard and I'm happy with it. It will cut out on long or thick grass if the height is too low, but doing multiple passes starting at the biggest height and moving progressively down works. And once the grass is cut to the right height, it's great for maintenance mows. And I find I'm more inclined to mow regularly because there's less ceremony getting the mower started, plus I can do short bursts here and there rather than mowing everything all at once.

    • I’ve got a Makita 36v, have had for about 8 year, though not this model. I can’t recall ever being wanting for more power. It’s taken a beating and is still in good nick and as another poster mentioned - there’s less rigmarole getting the mower out. Would recommend buying if you’re on the fence.

    • I have this model, round about 6 months and pretty impressed with it. Front lawn and nature strip is about 70sqm and I get about two and a half cuts out of 2x5amp batteries.

  • Can i price match and still receive $100 credit?

    • +1

You could try in bunnings by showing their AD. I don't think Total tools will match Sydney Tools as they always do promotions on different date.

  • I need the mower only….Anyone in VIC after the line trimmer and blower?

    • Place on Facebook market and discount by $50, you will sell it in 3 days

      • Good idea. How much do you think would be a good price to list the Line Trimmer and Blower for on Facebook?

        • +1

blower for $220 and Line Trimmer kit for $280

  • What’s the 20% credit mentioned in the description? I can only really see $100 credit ?

    • It is up to 20% credit, for example, if you spent exactly $500 you would get $100 credit. Spending $773 gets you the same $100 credit amount.

  • Dam, just bought something $280 from totaltools this Tuesday. Feel like I lost $50.

  • Wow, these things come with only 2 year warranty.
    Crazy!

2yrs for the battery, which is pretty much standard.
device is 5yrs upon the registration.

      • +1

Cheers for clearing that up 👍

  • Thanks Op!

  • How long is the credit valid for?

  • Deal still valid but without the bonus points/extra credit. Is it still good value?

    • I think so! You get a lot, if you have a line trimmer already you can always sell that on Marketplace for a bit of a cashback.

  • Bought one from local bunnings. Same deal but minus $100 bonus.
Mower, trimmer, 2 chargers, 4x5ah, 1x4ah batteries for $770. Seems very solid build but I am yet to try it

    • Still great deal!

    • Hi Snajper, did you claimed the online bonus with Makita? I tried to claim but the website keep saying the bunnings invoice number is incorrect. Please can I ask if you could assist what is the invoice number you used on your invoice?

  • I just mounted yesterday and discovered that the front left wheel suspension is higher than front right one, that means when other three?wheels are on the ground, front left one still?has 3mm gap to the ground. Is it normal behavior?

I got bunnings to price match toolmarts sale price of $739 (https://www.toolmart.com.au/makita-dlm464pt2.html?gad_source…) - so I got the entire bundle for $665.
In case someone just wants cash savinga rather than the $100 bonus…

    • Thank mate! I matched the price at bunnings. Got one question, did you claimed the online bonus with Makita? I tried to claim but the website keep saying my bunnings invoice number is incorrect. Please can I ask if you could assist what is the invoice number on the bunnings invoice?

      • The claim worked fine for me - just add all the numbers after the # without the dash, that's how I did it…otherwise, you probably have to reach out to Makita.

  • Those who have bought this set - any thoughts?

Sydney Tools still has this mower + line trimmer + blower/ 5ah batteries deal, but without the 100 pts. All the other shops Bunnings, Total Tools etc have removed the line trimmer.
I have tried to get 2 different bunnings in WA to price beat but both refused as the line trimmer is a gift (just sounds like they don't want to really).

It's still a very good deal even without the points, right? I am looking to replace my 5yo 160cc Ryobi mower and a Victa battery set (line trimmer, blower, hedge trimmer)

(Yes you read that right - I was young and stupid back then to buy a Ryobi petrol mower and a Victa power tool set)

    • I think I just saw that Sydney Tools has this promotion again?

      • Yes they did have this promo + $100 GC again for 3 days last week (10/10 - 12/10). Sadly I JUST missed it!

  • Hi everyone,

How is your experience with the MAKITA 36V mower so far? Watched some YouTube that it struggles if you leave the grass for a while and it gets moderately tall. By struggle I mean it won't even turn.

Does it have enough power or should I go with the 40V instead?

    Thanks
