I got one a few months ago and it's been going great! It's a really big pan and can easily fit a big meal as the sides are really quite deep. So I have used it for a pasta sauce and then I can easily fit 500g (or more) of cooked pasta into it, to finish off the dish.

Heats up very quickly on the gas and the walls and base are thick and heavy (as is the lid). Lid also fits well and is a big bonus on a pan like this because it expands it's use-ability quite a lot imo.

I also cook eggs in it and with only the smallest amount of olive oil (about 20 cent piece) I can cook 3 eggs and they literally slide right out of the pan when I just tip it over the plate/bowl, don't even need to use the the egg flipper! That's how good the coating is and honestly I think you could cook them without any oil and they still probably wouldn't stick (will have to try that one day 😅)

Handle is solid and feels nice, you just need to screw it in when it arrives, but they give you a cute stubby little screwdriver, that is also very decent quality (BONUS! 👍).

So all in all, for around $50 I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better quality pan of this size.

I'd go for the IKEA HEMKOMST over this any day of the week. 32cm is $39 + lid is around $12. Much better quality than these non-sticks with screwed handle which always comes loose, vs IKEA being riveted. Also doesnt use teflon / wont kill your birds.

Sort of related, but has anyone got a good pan for pancakes?? I had a really good one, heated perfectly, but I dropped it and now it’s all messed up

Was looking at the https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/middagsmat-crepe-pancake-pan-no… but it’s out of stock in most places

What kind of non-stick is this? Is it some form of coating that was sprayed on?

I'm wary of ceramic/stone looking pots/pans, as most of them aren't really real stone but sprayed on non-stick paint that looks like stone.

At this end of the market, isn't every non-stick pan using an applied coating ?

How else could they cover the steel or aluminium with a non-stick surface ?

If you don't like the coatings, then you need seasoned cast iron (cheap) or to pay (expensive) for something like a https://fromourplace.com/en-au/products/titanium-always-pan-…

      • Thanks for the reply. I'll look into that titanium pan. I don't mind paying for quality if its built with materials without long term health effects.

        • I don't think there's any consensus that the modern coatings have long term health effects 🤷🏼‍♂️ They stopped using Teflon etc some years ago in western nations - but don't buy random unknown pans for this reason.

I have had one of these for around 8 months now and it is really well made and solid. Had no issues with anything sticking, providing you put a tiny bit of butter or oil in it before using. Good review here from Freakin' Reviews .

    • Hey, thanks for the link that was a good review 👍. He tried out a lot of stuff I haven't cooked yet with mine, so that was very interesting to see! I'm glad I found this one, because I use it regularly and it's been really good. Nice to hear you have had a similar experience.
