  • Math: At 16% you need to spend $125, to get the full $20 back for those wondering where the higher break point is

    Edit: Thanks OP :)

    • The math is good, from memory BWS includes the GST portion.

Can confirmed they do. Mine tracked at $20 cashback on $126 order

BWS tracked, then come payout time for me, was refused. Was on quite a large purchase too. 'Nothing we can do', so the only thing left for me to do is warn people that cashrewards, even if tracked mightn't pay out.

same with me actually! I just raised a case with cashrewards last week..

      • Same but was paid on appeal.

      • Yeah, cashrewards told me to buggar off, nothing they could do.

Contact them via email (BWS Customer Care) so you have a record of their responses like I did two years ago. Ask them to fix the problem according to their advertised commitment. In your initial contact mention that you only purchased on the basis of the BWS inducement, that you have a record of payment and the CR cashback deal, and consumer law wrt bait and switch/false advertising. Escalate if they don't fix it the first time. Took me about three messages iirc before they caved and gave me a voucher for the amount owing. Not the same as cash return but kept the b@stards honest at least.

      • My version of keeping them honest is just besmirching cashrewards on here. i was a big fan before they got bought out- now they're trash.

        • The best way to keep them all honest is to make sure they keep their side of the bargain. If that means stubbornly insisting the store and CR meet their commitments - not accepting their rote fobbing off (disable blockers etc etc), and a further ten minutes filing a complaint to the ACCC if they don't do the right thing, then so be it in my estimation. The ACCC may do nothing but if they get enough complaints against a particular business (BWS would probably be high on the list based on Ozb comments), they might at some point decide to crack down on the occasionally shonky CB inducement business.

Didn't know CR had changed hands, thanks for the heads up. ANZ 1835i - probably explains why they're now so "innovative" /s. Buy out a business they know sfa about then hope it can manage itself. They used to guarantee CB, guess that's missing from their site now? I dumped ShopBack after their massive data security failure so I guess it's time to move on from the Aussie business to the UK intruder.

  • 16%? Really? You shouldn’t have!
