Need to Buy a Portable Projector Tomorrow Morning - Please Help

Sorry for such a noob question but I've been asked to buy a projector for a funeral to show videos and photos off a Samsung phone.

I know nothing about them and need to buy it tomorrow. Reliability, picture quality and ease of use is very important. Been given a budget up to $1500 but lower the better. There probably are cheap ones available for our purpose but been told to spend a bit more if the reliability and quality is there.

Thank you.

if this is for daylight projection you will need a very bright projector, better too get brush 1080p.
otherwise if picture quality matters and it's a dim environment, then get a 4k model.

Plenty of places hire them out - maybe even your local library.

It might help to narrow it down to where you are, each city has different AV stores. But projector rental is the way to go.

By portable, do you mean it has to be battery powered or will you have a power source? Most projectors you can just sit on a table, but if power is an issue that makes a big difference.

    off a phone

You might be better off loading to a usb and making sure files are compatible btw, wouldn’t want phone glitching/ run out of power/ random phone calls or notifications

      This is the best option.

Another one could be to connect a Chromecast to a display if it supports HDMI and cast from the phone.

For something so serious I wouldn’t even chance a chromecast. Or if absolutely need a middleman device prob a windows laptop.

  • Sorry for your loss.

I assume this is for the family gathering after the funeral as usually funeral homes/churches will provide this for you? Otherwise try your local library or council community hall. Maybe a scout group if there is one in the area might have one you can borrow for a few hours in exchange for a donation.

Or is this something the person who has instructed you to buy was looking into regardless and now is in a bit of a rush because they need it for this?

  • @Saul Goodman so how did you go mate? All sorted?
