I've been considering purchasing these Connetix (recommended by a friend) to replace my previous PicassoTiles set from Amazon. The PicassoTiles, unfortunately, didn't meet my expectations. While Connetix are more expensive, I'm hopeful they'll offer a better experience. Amazon's change of mind policy provides peace of mind in case they don't.

Hopefully this helps another person in the same situation or who wants to expand on what they have.

  I'm curious why Picasso Tiles didn't meet your expectations.

  We have Connetix ourselves but have bought a few Magna Tiles kits because they're so cool. I like how the Connetix dip in the middle so there aren't a ton of lives in the middle.

  Unfortunately I think they're cooler than my kid does.
