Telstra & Boost $2 sim cards can generally be registered without recharging. So you can register a Telstra prepaid service with a $2 sim card and whilst you can't make any calls, I believe it should give you access to Telstra Plus for a few months. Rince and repeat. Note: I did this about 12 months ago, so can't be certain it's still correct.
