wonder about an air con, what brand thats good? and where to buy it from?
i read that the installation fee gonna cost like $700++, so im gonna really need advice to get the best price and item

Do you mean the whole house or a single room? For a single room you want a split system, installed expect to pay around $1.5 for a small room, more as the size of the room increases. For whole house systems things get a lot more complicated and you should get some AC people out to quote.
humm we are planning for just one room. actually this room will gonna be for the baby, just to keep his/ her room temperature normal.
i think his / her room just around 25sqmbut, i got another idea, since we have a ducted heater installed, i wonder whether it is better if i just combine the cooling system with that one.
Unlikely. Heating a cooling a quite different and while you can combine them, usually not after the fact.
I think what you want is a split system. Buying one is easy, but look into installation first and once you have sorted that out you can determine if you buy through the installer or anywhere else.
Yep, installation is around $750 per unit if it's basic back to back wall & dont require additional fancy pipes. If u bring your floor plan to The good guys, they'll tell u how many units u need & how big. From that, u can shop around for the best price. I recently got a 8kw & that was enough to cool all rooms in an open plan house. Unit was $1800. Also bought a small unit & trying to sell now coz installation was more expensive to install than their value!
Best to get a regular company rather than go to Harvey Norman etc. Best brands in my opinion are Actron and Teco.
