Cheers I’ve been watching on and off for a while now , this is the cheapest it’s been for a while I’ve seen too

  • +2

Is this good for a side sleeper?

    • +3

I am a side sleeper and this is an excellent pillow. It is of medium height and medium firmness. It also does not change height during the night, nor over time. In a decades time it will still be exactly the same shape and support.

      • +9

not change height during the night, nor over time. In a decades time it will still be exactly the same shape and support.

DAE have that one yellow AF pillow, thats gone all flat/lumpy and now in your thirties is probably now the source of your neck/shoulder pain but you won’t throw out because its been your ride or die emotional support pillow having been through all the ups and downs in life since your mid twenties?

        • +1

          lol

        • +9

The dust mites are the only consistent support in our lives.

          • +2

@dtpearson: Whence the insults? I fear you may be being a touch oversensitive.

          • @dtpearson: Lolwut there's no trolling here

          • @dtpearson: What

There’s no insult intended towards you.
It’s a comment on the general consensus people want ‘best pillow’ - when SOME (LIKE MYSELF) may ALSO feel a certain comfort with a well past expiry date pillow that’s been with them for literally decades.

            • +1

@Jimothy Wongingtons: Apologies Jim, I have not seen the DAE acronym ever before, and your comment read as a put down without that info. I will retract my reply.

              • +1

@dtpearson: All good I was actually stressing all morning about whether I should reach out via pm and see what the go was, but happened to be engaged all morning with clients until now..

Even if I disagree with someone I never ever insult others (intentionally). I’d like to beleive we are all here for a good time , few laughs and sharing deals.

All good , and glad it was just misunderstanding :)

        • +1

Accurate. Dunlopillo is my main ride but this aged, lumpy, yellow friend is my side pillow to prop up my ipad to read because I still need the emotional support.

    • +3

For me personally it’s not quite high enough

      • +1

i dont care for it to be high since i put my hand under the pillow too lol

        • +2

How do you not get pins and needles?

          • +3

@WhyAmICommenting: I sleep the same way with arm and hand under the pillow and don't get pins and needles

          • @WhyAmICommenting: How DO you get pins and needles?

            • +20

@nikoris: Spotlight also sells pins and needles.

            • @nikoris: Pressure on the median nerve is the likely cause of pins and needles: worsened by flexing your hands when sleeping . This is carpal tunnel most likely if the pins and needles are over the first three fingers and half of the fourth.

              • @oraserat: naaw median nerve wont do that. Based on teh description on flexing the elbow you are looking at the ulnar nerve getting compressed mostly athe elbow and infreq. at the wrist.

      • Ditto, so I have to fold it to get more height and then it's too hard

      • +1

Same here. Had to buy an el cheap-o pillow from kmart that is VERY flat to put under this one to make it the right height. After that, is been great (alternatively put your arm under it)

      • +6

This is why there's the high profile pillow, also on sale.

      • Same, I ended up getting the Dunlopillo Luxurious Latex High Profile pillow and it was perfect!

  • +9

Not sure - I'm going to sleep on it

    • +1

If you sleep on it you might not sleep on it at all.

    • +13

Who goes there to do a positive review lol

      • Yep, a specific type of person wanders and reviews on productreview.

      • +5

Not many but when looking at the reviews you should look for a common factor. In this case a chemical smell that won't go away. That's enough to turn me off

        • +4

Had one for a few years, as has my wife.
There was a latex/rubber smell for the first night or two, but I haven't had a problem since.
Regular washing of the protective cover it comes with keeps it in pretty good nick.

        • +2

aired them out for 2 nights, no smell.

        • If you don't want to risk chemical smell you can get th non latex memory foam version, which is a fantastic pillow too

      • +2

        I’ve written positive reviews there

    • Serious question, what is the go to pillow these days? I don’t mind spending $100/150 if it’s going to give me a good nights sleep..

      • Have no idea, I'm sleeping on random ones but thought about getting this but a lot of reviews talk about bad smell which has put me off

        • +2

I got a couple of these recently. The smell disappears in a few days.

      • +2

I've got the Tempur Millenium and don't have any complaints.

      • I got a TLC Latex pillow a year ago and was amazed by the comfort. Worth comparing with the Dunlop if you find comparable size & densities. I just went with the Classic Traditional.

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals/tlclatexpillows.com.au

Previous 2 pillows over past decade were both Denton's contoured high profile (moulded foam), good for side sleepers & snorers.

    • Reading many of those, I wonder if they've bought knock-offs. I've got 2 medium and a soft and no smell, or the other issues they mention.

  • +1

Really on the fence about this. I remember reading they don't make these like they used to.

    • that's right, TLC supposedly better now

      • I brought a TLC for my wife after buying a (new) Dunlopillow Classic for myself and hearing all the feedback about TLC being 'better'. Turned out we both preferred the Dunlopillow as we found the TLC too firm.

        • I bought a second TLC pillow after the first one I bought was amazing.
Although they felt roughly the same, the second one was much firmer than the first.
          Pity.

  • What's the height on these pillows?
The one I have is too low and need one a little tall. The website doesn't post this information.

    • +1

Saw 13cm and 13.5cm on 2 other sites.

    • +2

I'm a side sleeper and still found this pillow wasn't high enough, ended up getting the Dunlopillo Luxurious Latex High Profile pillow and it's perfect for me.

      • Isn't high profile hard as a rock?

  • Latex is quite warm because they trap heat, right?
How long does this thing last before need replacing usually?

    • Comes with 10yr warranty so one would be safe to assume more than 10yrs

  • +2

Bought two of the "contour profile" in 2021 ($138 for the pair, from Kogan). I really like the contour medium feel. One side is higher than the other so you can choose the one that you want.

    I'm a side sleeper.

For reference, that's the one I have:

    • +2

Same happened to me, so I changed to delivery, applied code, changed back to c&c and code remained, worked

      • There's always a solution in the comments. Cheers.

Spoke to soon "conditions not met, or your existing price is already lower."
        Is it over?

I was going to buy Ecosa but decided to support Spotlight because it angers a minority.

    • +4

Thanks, I was on the fence about buying this but you've convinced me to buy one.

    • +6

Thanks for the heads up. Ordered two.

Two Jewish immigrants came to Australia in the 50's and their parents had a humble fabric stall in the Queen Victoria Market in Melbourne.
They later founded one of Australia's most successful privately-owned businesses. What a wonderful Australian success story, I will gladly shop there. Thanks for the recommendation!

    • Hey, I wonder your opinion on this:

There was a recent deal from spotlight for a pressure cooker for $89
With discounts, goes to around $62
Would it be better to price match from another store for $89 or buy from spotlight and donate the $27 to a Palestinian charity?

  • Changed my life as a back sleeper. No more neck and head pain!

  • +1

    Cheers, needed new pillows!

Bought 3 - TAKE30 is also working, if you haven't used that one yet.

  • Honestly don't know what people see in these, went to try Dunlopillo in-store and every version felt like sleeping on a brick.
I did end up finding a really good pillow although quite a bit more expensive: Sealy Memory Rest Contour for about $170 after sale

  • I'm still on the hunt for a good pillow that stays cool, currently using a latex and finds that it still gets hot at night

    • Maybe try ones that are 'gel infused', sometimes it's only on one side of the pillow though

      • I've tried the Ikea one, it seems about as good as the latex pillows, if only we had water cooled ones like in the US.

  • I bought the Medium soft - high profile Dunlopillo but found it a bit too high and made of stiff compound. I'd wake up with my earlobe sore from sleeping on my side. Then I got the Classic which is medium soft - medium profile. That one didn't make my ear hurt but feels a bit low for side sleep.

You can use VIP30 as another code through Qantas shopping website and also get 3 Qantas Frequent Flyer point per $1 spend

  • Doesn’t work for new accounts? I’ve tried every code in this thread and I keep getting this error.

“Please sign in to the correct VIP Club account to use this promo code”

    • Have you tried changing to delivery, applying the code and changing back to click and collect ? That's what I had to do, but I didn't get that error (was using phone not desktop)

      • I get "conditions not met, or your existing price is already lower.'

        • Odd, unsure why that is happening. Maybe they have somehow disabled voucher on this item. Maybe you could add more items to raise the total spend, apply, then delete the other items ?

        • +2

You need to accept the $10 coupon they sent in email before being able to use it

          • @Pricebeat: Legend! That fixed it. Thanks!

          • @Pricebeat: Thanks, I ended up just using the $10 coupon as I’ve been procrastinating about getting a new pillow for too long and this was the push I needed.

The codes seem to be working now. I might see if they’ll apply the coupon retroactively instead of doing a second order and returning it.

    • I got the same. New account. Multiple attempts changing delivery, from both phone and desktop. All 3 codes in this thread. Logged out and back in again. Can't work around it.

      • See my comment above

  • +1

Can anyone recommend a good low profile pillow for a front sleeper?

  • +2

As an alternative, Friends price at Harris Scarfe is $87.99 - new accounts get $10 off. Brings it down to $77.99 - Also $5 click and collect voucher

    • Thanks for sharing - this worked for me. I was facing the same issues as a few others above - and even getting "error 500" when trying to accept the spotlight voucher to "unlock" the discount codes (service "ozbargained"?)..

      • same i'm getting this error too ==
