Could Someone Help Me? How to Remove The Sun Visor/Weather Shields from My Car without Damaging The Paint?

My sun visor have been installed amolst 3 years and it started peeling off at the edge, I want to remove it but i'm afraid of damaging the paint, the rest is still firmly attached.
Please advice, thanks in advance.

  • Picture needed.

    • Sorry i don't know how to add photos, but it is used 3m tape to stick on window frame, no screws, i just want to know what can remove those tapes and leave no marks.

      • Heat gun to remove tape without leaving residue.

Otherwise, figure out how to post photos (imgur link is one way) because I have no idea what this means:

Without any photo…just undo the screws.
If weather shields are glued on it might help to use a solvent.
Alternatively remove/cut off the section that is peeling off and insert new double sided tape. Too easy
No need to remove entire weather shield at this stage.
    Good luck!

    • Thank you so much! I will try it, and someone told me that i should cover the warm towel a while before i remove it, will that help? it is 3m double side tape glued.

    • The weather shields is still in its good shape, but it was attached not in the very good way, had damaged my paint at the door frame, I have to remove it first. I cannot send pictures.

  • Heat it with a hair dryer to soften the tape.

    • Thank you, will try it.

Was tape used? If yes, use fishing line under the tape. Then remove the residue with WD40.

    • I don't have fishing line nor WD40, thanks for your advice though, much appreciated! I will try hair dryer and warm towel to do it first.

Dont worry about the warm towel. Just dont allow the hair dryer to focus on one spot. Wave it along the tape section to warm the whole area.

        • It's been removed!! and no damage at all, thank you all.

Literally available from your local hardware store, probably even Kmart.

I’d try dental floss then, but you probably haven’t got any of that either.

Yes, fishing line and wd40 are impossible to find anywhere, I would also give up 🙄

I feel like you’re the type of person who should just pay to get someone else to do it.

  • After a small bingle the panel repair place put the badges on my car's tailgate back on noticeably wonky.

I thought I'd prefer to have the car de-badged than that.

Then I decided I was the sort of person who should just pay to get someone else to do it, and I just didn't want it enough to do that.

  • Thank you all!
