Buying Fence Supplies in Geelong

Looking to build a picket fence.

I've basically decided on bunnings for the pickets as I have a Bunnings within walking distance. It's about $800 all up left to pay.

What the best way to buy these? Any gift card deals? Onepass? Tradie mates?

by the way how is geelong now? growing and economic is good?
the north areas is still dangerous and poor?

    • Geelong is still Geelong. Corio, Norlane & Whittington are still as ghetto as ever. Lovely Banks has a nice name, but it's just Corio.
Mt Duneed and Armstrong Creek are still growing. Very overcrowded now, and too far out from the city IMO. Just moved to from Grovedale to Lara and couldn't be happier. Lara has a few new estates and is growing.

Damn those are near waterfront nice view. Too bad. Why the ghetos always get best view haha

They're not near the waterfront at all. There's no views in those areas.

      • Lara is about 5km further out from the city than Armstrong Creek and Mt Duneed as the crow flies, and isnt Lara just expanding more and more like Armstrong Creek and the like are?

Agree re Corio, Whittington & Norlane - but seems there are pockets of decency in next adjacent suburbs - Bell Park, Bell Post Hill, Hamlyn Heights, Thomson?

        • It's easier to get into the city from Lara than it is Armstrong Creek. Takes us the same amount of time as it did from Grovedale, so add an extra 10 or so minutes from Armstrong Creek.

Lara isn't expanding at the rate of Armstrong Creek. No new shopping centres, schools, take aways, etc. Just more housing. Hopefully one day soon we'll get a KFC!

The other suburbs you mentioned are getting better. Houses are expensive there, and are usually quite dated.

  • A whopping 1% cashback via Shopback Bunnings gift cards purchases.

Are you planning on walking the supplies home?
