I used to be able to claim the app with just the browser on any platform. Now I see only the share button, and I need to run Windows VM to open the store in it to claim it.

Any idea what's going on? It works for me on desktop but not on mobile, I also see a share button.

I will assume the Microsoft Store App needs to be running, or available to the browser to open. If you check the link on the "Free" button it contains "ms-windows-store://".

  • Thanks OP.

  • Thanks OP I'll claim when I'm not on my work computer lol

Is there a way to view all owned games in Microsoft store ? They don't seem to stick in the game library.

In the Microsoft Store click the Library icon on the bottom left-hand side. Then click Games along the top. Finally, click the up/down arrows (Sort and Filter) on the top right and make sure it's on "show installed products only" to see only the games installed on that PC (not all Microsoft Store games. These can be viwed by choosing Sort by Name or Sort by Date).

      • Thanks, but I am looking to see all games that I "bought", even if they are not installed currently. If I uninstall a game, it disappears from library when Microsoft Store app is restarted. Right now, my games library is showing solitaire only. The only way to get the game again is to find it in store. It then says "Owned", however, I do not expect myself to remember all titles that I have ever bought/installed. There should be a list somewhere, just like Epic, Steam or GOG library.

        • You might need to update the Windows Store app (just did myself recently and seemed to change things quite a bit). In Library it shows all games acquired even if they aren't installed.

Edit: Also, obviously, make sure "Show installed products only" is unticked in the sort and filter options.

@MiscOzB: Thanks, I have tried what cryptowiz suggested again and it worked. I just had to untick "show installed products only", stupid me…

Fair warning, the games I've gotten on Microsoft store have been such a PITA to deal with that I'd rather just buy them or not play them. It's the ultimate culmination of terrible software designs of the modern era. It makes Epic Games look good.

      Lol.

I've bought games before and played only my pirated copy because the copy protection is a a PITA.

  • With all the freebies happening for the HotK series, I wish I knew when the new one would drop

  • I thought there was two bananas, now I'm hungry.

  • It can only be downloaded? Nah my space deserves better.

    • Yes, but I uninstalled the game, and it is in my library to install when I am ready to play. :)

Yes, doesn't it know we want to own it but never play it?

  • lol if you accidentally let Townopolis install from the store, there's no way to uninstall it there. MS store is such a joke…
