These are absolutely amazing value. Love them.

Budget for me is sub $50. Any suggestions?

At below $50 my personal preference for music is Anker A20i > Huawei free buds > Moondrop Space Travel > QCY T13 ANC. Anker A20i is below $30 when on sale, making it the best value imo.

    • I have the Anker P20i ear buds, currently under $30:

      https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0BTYCRJSS

I would buy them again; great value. I haven't tried the A20i, so I can't comment on pros/cons of each.

      Work harder

    • If you want wireless, then check Scarbir.

If you're happy with wired, check Crinacle who measures $20 and up earphones on very expensive lab gear; although he's removed some unethical brands from his list.

If you're somewhere in the middle, you can buy wired earphones (like the ~$25 KZ Castor Blacks) and plug them into an around-the-neck bluetooth receiver.

  • Any recommendations for ear phones without the rubber bit/bud on the end currently using soundpeats air 3 not sure if the 4 is really an upgrade these look great but i cannot get on with any of the ones with the extra bit. Had to return samsung buds

  • multi-point connection.

How good is the above? Can i connect laptop and mobilephone. when listening to music on phone, and someone call me on team laptop/jabber, it will ring and by press button on the buds (no need to touch laptop) it will switch to laptop?

    • Yes, I have the 4NC and just bought the earfun air pro 4 direct on pre order. I gave my kid the 4NC and I've kept the earfun, noise cancelling is better and for me fit is better. I'd say 4NC app and bass is better, less noise bleed, but that's subjective. You won't be disappointed with either for decent sound, NC, mic, multipoint and battery life.

      • Link to earfun air pro 4?
        Thx for confirming multipoint

        • I bought direct from earfun. They did 30% off pre order so was $98 au delivered. They might have sold out in their Amazon store but they'll be back.

This is $118, every other day - I won't take it as a deal. The real steal was $47 last year by mobileciti, if my memory serves me correct - i missed that.

    • +3

Yes, but I got that via mobiciti and they sent me p20i buds and said it was an error in their listing so not their fault, so would avoid mobiciti with that attitude as it's happened more than once. I paid 112 for the 4NC with a 5% off code during their normal 118.40 price.

      • oh really? How can they send you something that you didn't intend to buy. They should have refunded it instead. Very scammy attitude, wasn't expecting this from @mobileciti @Mobilecitiau

I had to ask very nicely for a return label they wanted to charge me for as "change of mind" if my memory serves me correctly. Wouldn't touch them again for that reason alone. I didn't change my mind, I just wanted the actual item id ordered that they did have stock of and their own invoice indicated was shipped to me. I was lucky I recorded myself opening them to prove it!

          • @seraphim2017: Do you know if this happened to everyone who ordered via that deal or just a few, when they ran out of stock of 4NC?

            • @ChipsChicky: No idea, but I'd imagine they ran the same "error " line to more than me as they confirmed they still had stock of the 4NC they just wouldn't send them.

Another plus one for them from me. They are my daily drivers for work and I use them when I do long haul on planes as well and they never miss a beat

    • If they do miss a beat then music wouldnt sound as good right?

  • I have these, best anc at this price point.

  • Just got a pair of these for father's day. Seem to be really good so far; multipoint works well (call came through perfect while gaming on a Steam Deck), ANC makes a noticeable difference, although as someone new to ANC it did feel a bit out of place and uncomfortable without anything actually playing. I would say it's good to block out background noise while listening to something, but I wouldn't want to use it just to block out noise for rest / sleep.

    • I have used for few hours sleep every morning. Blocks out noise from bathroom exhaust fan, washing machine, and some other noises etc.

  • Best around. Love them

  • This isn't budget, under $30 is budget. Get a Moondrop space travel.

They’re budget in the premium market.

  • Got these a couple of months ago and am close to palmin them off to a relative despite the audio/anc being decent for the price. The fit just doesn't seem to be sealing properly for me with the included eartips and finding alternative ones appears to be a pain with limited options due to their non-standard size. Even the commonly suggested Spinfit tips didn't do much and trying to attach them was a miracle in itself

    • Comply TrueGrip TW-700-B fit them.

They're a bit expensive, and (being memory foam - the stuff hearing defender ear plugs are made of) they will wear out; but they fit really well and cancel a bit of extra noise as well.

  • These need to be 50% off at least for them to be a deal.

  • How many devices can it connect to at once?

  • are any earbuds any good for taking calls while reducing noise from surrounding environment? I find my earbuds are good at picking up my voice, but also really good at picking up everything else… making it pretty terrible unless i'm in a really quiet room.

    • I've used these standing next to a 4U rackmount 24 drive NAS server with a mix of 120 and 80mm fans, and the person I was talking to couldn't hear it, so I think they're OK.

I've never used them out on the street, though, so that might be different.

Use with Soundcloud regularly and anc. Shops is fantastic too. Some places got way too many people, vehicles, etc.

  • Bought these in March for $125.70, very happy with them. They're the best sub-USD $100 noise cancelling headphones on Scarbir, with the noise cancelling being a big step up from the Liberty Air 2s I had before.

They make going to the mall at lunchtime tolerable.

They've also got what's called "good sub-bass extension", meaning they play notes below regular bass, turning those descending notes 13 seconds into Daft Punk's "Solar Sailor" into a warm hug.

That said, if you want less bass they have an app with two dozen or so preset tunings and a customisable EQ so that you can tune them to your preferences. Or there's a hearing test that'll play tones and try to figure out a tuning that sounds flat to you.
