[Uber One] Save $20 Next 3 Orders When You Order $40 or More on Grocery @ Uber Eats

320

$20 off $40 for next 3 grocery orders on Ubereats until 29 September

Based on items I buy, all prices are inflated about 10% inflated prices for Coles with around $4 service fee (if buying $40 worth) = in total $8 savings compared to buying in store for $40 spend.

That means a total true discount of $12 for $40 spend or 30% true total discount + free delivery if you factor service fees and inflated prices.

If you have items that are out of stock, but still reach the $40 spend target (must put no replacement items), you will get an overall better in discount (i.e. Order $40 stuff, if $20 item out of stock, you will still get $20 off, so you only pay $0 + $2 service fees).

Doesn't include discounts in store, so always go for items that rarely go on discount (i.e. Coles or Woolies branded, spices, frozen fish, some meats/deli items).

There is also an alternative method some Ozbargainers are secretly using on discord called 'Doordash Australia 55% Off' Discord where the user 'thehotstepper' is able to provide around 40% true total discount no delivery fees (max $26.99 order).

Warning: Use above alternative method at your own risk as it's unofficial, is not a promotion from Doordash itself and does not involve ordering through the app but through an unknown third party. But it has worked for me and many others on multiple occasions so far.

Used this recently at Woolworths and found it to be cheaper than going in store.

depends what you buy. if you buy weekly specials then yes instore still cheaper cuz Uber price doesnt change with the weekly specials. but if you buy some stuff thats never or rarely on special or already on the "everyday price", then its worth it.

      • It's good to compare with online prices before buying.

      • I've used on Saturday, I considered same, I bought items needed but likely merely have discount. Most of coles branded items are already cheaper than branded items and rarely have discounts. also if you buy items that are sold and driver partner cancel the item and refund, then you still get the discount $20, but pay less accordingly. I ordered $40 worth items plus 10% service fee - $20, then driver cancelled of bread I specifically ordered and it came out total $20.48 including service fee of 10%. I was alright not getting bread. It can be good to add eggs if you short to make up of $40 as eggs are low in supermarket (of course you have little more chance to get eggs than not so order only if you need). For me, I needed eggs but I didn't order as I was afraid of cancel the egg and go down to below $40, which I worried discount will be void.

They did cancel my order of eggs and the discount still went ahead. As long as you did not turn on the replacement option for out of stock items.

          • @Pricebeat: yea indeed, I also knew by experiencing with bread and so now I know. I've completed number of Coles order handling and delivery yesterday (I'm UEDP myself too)

          • @Pricebeat:

            the discount still went ahead

I have mixed experience. Last time went no issue but the one before that the discount was removed. Had to reach out support and after going back and forth for few days they honoured the discount.

    • I worked out on Uber Eats the prices the thing I buy at my local coles/woolies are 10% more than instore prices, so without any deals not as good as in store

i used a Uber on the way home from the hospital at 5 am Saturday morning, and was given $30 off two $40 shops, I used coles and got a decent amount for around $13 delivered.

    • I received this same offer

    • I used Uber on the way home from the hospital early hours Saturday morning as well. Might be targeted for our use case.

      • I took the Uber from hospital a couple weeks ago during the day, and my offer is valid for 3 shops.

  • Targeted I Guess!

  • i dont get the promotions , might be targeted ?

    • Yep. Seems like some have had it a while ago. I recently used uber ride so mught have triggered the deal.

  • Pretty sure we are well past 29th July

Wow ordering DD through a 3rd party is sigma

This offer was available to me the past 2 months. Not this month.

  • Warning: if something you ordered is OOS and your balance is below $40, Uber will deactivate the promo (not pro rata discount). So make sure you spend a bit more than the threshold.

    • +2

Oh is this recent changes? Cause they used to keep the same fix discount like this in the past order (means it's even better as when we bought $40, and $10 of it is OOS, they'd refund $10 keeping the $20 discount intact).

      • +1

Sounds new because they used to keep $20 discount in tact for my old orders as well when items were refunded

    • definitely not my experience

  • How do u avoid delivery fee though? Both my woolies/coles is still charging delivery fee, eventhough I use the same card as my free uberone subscription (so I need to pay both delivery and service fee no matter what, for groceries order)

    • Depends where you live and proximity. Free delivery for uberone to most places nearby.

With delivery free the savings aren't that much considering you only save $12 originally.

      • Both coles/woolies on my ubereats are pretty close (under 2km) but they still charge. I can only get free delivery for restaurant order (which are even further than my coles/woolies). Not sure where I did wrong :(

        • try putting a different address closer to the store to see if delivery becomes free? Then it might be your address?
