Just note that when this popped up for me a couple of months ago, I didn't automatically get credited with the cashback when buying a Woolworths gift card (as the description was slightly different on the transaction statement). After a bit of argy-bargy, the cashback was paid.
Being a glutton for punishment, I've just bought another Woolworths card today.
Have you received your cashback yet? The last one they did, I received my cashback after 3 days, but I haven't received it in this one, and it's been over 2 weeks.
Still haven't received cashback for a Special Gift card purchase from September 12. Have sent a message through the Citi website now.
Did you get your cashback already? I made a purchase on September 26 and have also NOT received my $10 cashback. On call with customer service right now and the guy does not know anything about this offer. I took a screenshot so hoping that will help.
@ganjadeals: Not yet unfortunately. A bit of back and forth with Citi support online, they have "raised the investigation" and asked to wait 5 business days. So just have to wait and reply back if nothing next week.

Seems like last months cashback has been problematic for quite a few people. Or maybe NAB thinks people won't remember and they can keep their cashback 😂

Question: is the Woolworths gift card
(a) an actual gift card which you can use in-store by scanning the bar code; or
(b) a card that has to be loaded into a digital Wallet and that requires NFC (which my phone doesn't have) to use it in-store?I think (b) loaded to Google Pay last time, happy to be corrected
Yes it's B. I normally add it to my Google Wallet and then tap to pay.
With that said, the Special app does also give you the option to view the card number and PIN, so it might be possible to manually key in the card number into the EFTPOS terminal instead of tapping. Unfortunately I've never tried this though so I can't say for sure.
Woolworths Special gift cards are essentially prepaid Mastercard gift cards (similar to Coles Mastercard gift cards and Vanilla Mastercard gift cards), except their redemption is limited to physical Woolworths stores and the Woolworths Online store. This is different from Woolworths Group gift cards, which do not operate on a major card network.
To manually key in the details of a Woolworths Special gift card into an EFTPOS terminal, you would need to have the checkout go into MOTO mode. I have no idea whether Woolworths’ checkouts can actually do this.
Considering you only need the card number and expiry date (and you do not need the physical card) to initiate a MOTO transaction, it is probably of little surprise that MOTO mode is generally something that merchants are discouraged from accepting.

Just another thing to note, the Woolworths gift card that you load into the digital wallet can be used to buy other gift cards at Woolies, as it's practically an EFTPOS card.

How long after purchase are you supposed to see the credit on your statement?
I usually see my cashback on the next statement but for this one, I do not see it on the statement I received in October.
I just sent an online live chat with them, they said they will forward the matter to the relevant department and will credit it to me asap in case you want to do the same

How do we even get to the livechat? I tried on desktop with Chrome, logging in to my account,:
1. Clicking live chat just give me a small window with "Welcome to Citi Live Chat" that never changed (there's nothing to type either).
2. Then if I go to the address bar on that small window and press enter, it'd refresh and ask my name/email, but then the CS said I was not on the secure chat, hence need to redo it (redoing it will bring me back to no 1 - without forcing the refresh, it just stucked on that Welcome forever)I got my cashback today after the live chat and they back dated to 28/9.

Has anyone actually got the $10 back? The last 2 Citi offer I did, haven't got anything back (did purchase of this Special on 8 Sep, and AirBnb on 27 Sep, neither of them gave anything back so far). Never had issue with other similar offer in the past
Yeah I got mine yesterday backdated to 28/9 but I have to submit an inquiry through the live chat to prompt them to do something. Normally I get a text msg to say they credited it but I didn't get it this time after they process the credit.
