Xbox Series S + Samsung S90C

Looks like my new setup can't handle settings at full HD + 120hz; screen just flickers or registers no connection at all.

It may be the HDMI cable but I really cbf unravelling the birds nest of wires hidden behind the TV and cabinet, especially seeing as Xbox SS can only output 1440p I believe?

Are settings better at 60Hz / 4K FHD (as it is at current) or 1440p / 120Hz?

Would new ultra HDMI cable make any difference given the bottlenecks?

Not sure which end is better at the upscaling to 4K resolution (Xbox vs TV scaling) etc etc.,,

Cheers

Looks like your setup is in a committed relationship with frustration.

Maybe try unplugging your patience, updating your sanity, and reinstalling a new HDMI cable—might just resolve the conflict.

Or just tell your Xbox to stop pretending it’s a 4K overachiever……

is it a HDMI 2.1 cable ? As I remember I was able to select 4k + 144Hz with my PC and S90C with a proper cable.

    • thanks for reply….pretty sure its not 2.1, but from what i understand xbox SS is only 1440p…so im asking if new ultra HDMI cable make any difference given the bottlenecks + i really cbf unravelling the birds nest of wires hidden behind the TV and cabinet!

I am not familiar with Xbox One SS as I only got OG Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One which only does 1080p.

I have these 48 Gbps cables and can't complain for $10. You can get one of these and test without using the wires behind the cabinet (maybe just connect without running through the cabinet to test ?)
