Was $49.98, and still showing that on Pricehipster at time of posting. https://pricehipster.com/product/SbBlIB91WOJ18kEe8-0WyA~HJ1K…

Plenty of stock around. https://nrby.in/bunnings/0595347

Specs from description and manual.

4 Pendulum Cutting System
0-45° Double Bevel
Splinter Guard
Tool-Free Blade Change
Variable Speed Trigger
No Load Speed: 2,700spm
Stroke Height: 20mm
Cutting Depth: 80mm (Timber)
12mm (Plastic)
10mm (Metal)

I would think the metal cutting depth would only be for soft metal only and probably only 2-3mm in steel.

Finally, been waiting years for this to be reduced. It was once around this price but went out of stock in a few hours. Can't find the deal but IIRC it was $29.

Knowing my luck, a brushless version is about to be released.

my ozito alert has been pinging all morning

there must be an aldi sale or something

and people wonder how colesworth get away with gouging

  • +3

How does it compare with this one ?

EDIT: Comparing the manuals (which is a pain as they don't list the same specs), the dearer one (above) has a line guide and a parallel guide, but they both handle the same load, blades etc.

Key Differences:Stroke Length: The PXJSS-600 has a longer stroke length (25mm) compared to the PXCJS-018 (20mm), which may allow for faster cutting in some materials.Pendulum Action: The PXJSS-600 offers a 4-stage pendulum action, whereas the PXCJS-018 has a 3-stage pendulum action.LED Light: The PXCJS-018 features an LED work light, which the PXJSS-600 lacks.Weight: The PXJSS-600 is slightly heavier, likely due to its longer stroke length and additional features.Conclusion:PXJSS-600 is slightly more powerful with a longer stroke length and more pendulum stages, making it potentially better for heavy-duty tasks.PXCJS-018 is lighter and includes an LED light, making it more convenient for detailed or low-light work.

            @jimojr: Well done then Sir.

I, for one, welcome our new GPU powered overlords.

    • I have the PXJSS-600 and am impressed by it, but still I can't help being worried that a cheaper/lighter version would be mediocre.

  • Price gone up to $49. Just missed out, was $39 when I added to basket but then changed.

    • Mine is showing $39

    • +2

it's still $39 on page and in basket for me - did it add the $10 delivery in checkout?

      • Humm, I see it as $39 when I use an incognito browser. Thanks all, got one.

        • Bloody Bunnings! Same here.
          Normal window…. back to $49.
Incognito window …. still at $39.

Great price but these cheap tools only good for light stuff, tried it cutting hybrid flooring was bad, went out and spent the $$$ And got the Makita version, cuts through like butter. Get what you pay for indeed, I am done with buying cheap tools like this

Had the same experience with the 600, but after changing the blade on the Ozito it cut brilliantly. It was all in the blade in my experience.

      • Yeah I second this. Get some Diablo blades. Was the same for the 165mm circular saw everybody said didnt cut well. I put a diablo fine cut blade on it and it goes through anything like butter and never stalls. I swear ozito shoot themselves in the foot with the terrible blades they put on their gear, makes it seem really crappy out of the box.

    • hybrid boards you can Stanley knife it and snap it off

I'm gobsmacked they claim this thing will cut metal of 10mm thickness!

Well… I'll be honest, I have to admit I'm off the mark….. on reflection, I reckon it will cut up to 80 mm of metal, with 1 proviso.

So long as the metal you're cutting is mercury, it will do the job capably.

    • I'm not sure that cutting a liquid makes sense?

      • +1

if you consider the context that I reckon this would struggle mortally to cut 10mm of metal… and mercury is a metal…. then perhaps you'll see the logic.

    • +3

Technically is the best kind of correct.

I dare say it would cut Sodium even better (sodium is a metal), as mercury will just fill in the kerf, leaving no cut.

But cutting pure elemental sodium may lead to other issues.

      • wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee says the audience as the cutter cuts

      • But cutting pure elemental sodium may lead to other issues.
Unless its in a vacuum or coated in oil not sure you'll get the chance.

Exposing pure sodium to atmosphere is enough let alone trying to cut it. Pure sodium being exposed passively to the open air is enough to make some fun, are you saying this saw is only as good as the air we breathe?

  • How does it compare to this: https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-680w-pendulum-jigsaw-with-…

Worth trading out for the cordless version? Rarely use it, just for the odd DIY job.

Also, what's the Bunnings return policies on these, if they've been used they still trade in these days right?
