Samsung The Frame 75" TV - $2480 + Delivery ($0 to Select Cities/ NSW C&C/ in-Store) @ Appliance Central

70

Samsung have dropped the price to $2799 and a few retailers have it at this price.

Cheapest I've seen so far is Appliance Central $2480: https://www.appliancecentral.com.au/qa75ls03dawxxy-samsung-7…?

Having said that I know people have had this under 2k before. I'm keen to buy but don't want to miss out on a better deal later in the year. What you think, is this the best we'll see in 2024 or have you seen any other striking deals?

If you know someone with a .gov.au email it's currently $2,274.35 on the gov portal. I don't have an edu email, might be similar there

I think there will be better deals if you can wait. I was watching for a while and they routinely go on sale.

I got at 75 in this sale https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/854153 for $1,883 plus the $159 soundbar I returned for a refund.

It's a great TV and I would buy again but it does have niggles that annoy me, all are software related so hopefully someone knows how to fix or they release updates.

    1. The best setting for Frame Art mode to display art is not the best setting for watching TV. I can't see how to set these up automatically as two different default settings.

    2. The light sensor i cant get to work so the Art stays on all day and goes off at night. I'm not sure if the art is making the room too bright that it thinks its daytime, ive set the sensor to high. I need to use the turn off after x hours of no movement, which means it also goes off during the day if you don't walk past it.

    3. the new Samsung hub home section i cant see how to change the layout so my APPs are the first thing, not live streaming channels i never watch.

    Anyway, good luck.

    • I have the old The Frame not the matte screen one, I don't want it to display art automatically, I can hold the power button for a few seconds to turn the TV off completely, if anybody don't like matte screen and art mode, don't buy it, I bought the old model just because it was cheap.

    • Interesting - the deal you had was 22% off? Did you get $1883 on the 75" definitely? That seems ridiculously cheap, and that was last month??

      • Yep, but i didnt admit i actually bought 2.

        • God damn, that is phenominal. I feel I might not be that lucky because that was an EOFY sale. I'm confused how 22% got it that low? It's $3495 full price

          • @djblurr: I think it was an additional sale to the sale price that was already on the website. Not 100% sure.

            • @Block: Ahhh bummer. To be honest I've been on/off looking for a deal on this TV for about 2 years lol and seems I've missed a couple of times.

How are the soundbars? Do they improve the TV sound a lot?

              • @djblurr: I returned them, the deal needed you to buy them.

I just use the TV speakers, they aren't great but they are OK and do the job.

Just to add, I have none of your issues and have a 2021 75” frame. Assuming the software is the same.

      1. You can set the brightness in the art menu (bottom right - ‘settings’). This is not the same brightness as watching tv

      2. If you have a Frame attachment or sound bar, check whether it covers your ambient light sensor (bottom right). I had this issue and moving the soundbar nailed it.

      3. Worth a google on how the UI works as you can change it. It’s not as logical as you might think unfortunately.

Definitely agree though - I think this is a totally underrated TV, always a point of discussion with visitors if you mount it correctly.

Yes i have done this but i think Movie mode is the best picture setting for art, but not great for watching most TV shows. Cant seem to have a picture mode separate for art and TV without manually swapping.

Its pretty clear but I do have the metal bezel frame attached, so I'll have a play with that.

        Will do.

We recently purchased the 65" for our dining room and love it. Its great to have art/photos displayed instead of just a black space. Also our dining room/kitchen/lounge room are open plan, so it would have looked a bit silly having 2 tvs in the same space. This way it lets me watch TV easy from the kitchen and also while at the dining table.
It sits very flush to the wall and with the changing artwork it gets lots of complements!

    • We recently got the 65' for about $1499 I think.

My review concurs with others…. its athletically pleasing and looks good on the wall as a painting/picture frame. Its side viewing angle is not so great for watching movie's etc but I wouldn't say its 'bad' either. Speakers are a bit crap, but sound-bars are cheap.

For us, it was more about enhancing the flow of the living room so its a great buy! If it was for a media room or are we watch a lot of TV, I'd get something else.

We also got the upgraded Samsung swivel wall mount to go with it, so we can pull it out and face it in other directions.

Hisense are about to release a "CanvasTV" Frame competitor. My guess is that this is a pre-emptive price reduction.

I'm going to hold out for the Canvas TV simply because it will run Google TV.

    • Interesting hadn't seen this. Only comes in 65" though.

    • Nope. US get Google TV. We get VIDAA. Yayyy

      • ffffffaaaarrrrkkkk

        Damn it.

        • FYI - TCL NXTFrame runs Googly TV. Same price.

Not sure I want TCL tbh - I always considered it 'worse' than Hisense

@randomdude: Yeh once I realised we were getting VIDAA I decided I'll get the nxtframe instead. But I've flipped back to the Hisense after reading comparison reviews out of the US. The TCL is inferior based on reviews. Just wish Samsung did a version without the one connect box.

  • Do these come with the slim fit wall mount in the box? The Samsung website specifically says "Wall mount included" but no mention at Appliance Central.

    • Yeah I think they all do as standard.

      • Thanks!

  • I find this TV is a bit janky.. in particular the app..
Somtimes the TV is a bit glitchy

  • What would be a good price to wait for a 65" frame tv?
