Converse Chuck 70 High Top Black Sneakers $99 + $9.95 Delivery ($0 with OnePass) @ Catch

71

best price ive seen on these in a while since the rrp was hiked up to $150. and theyre black! so no objectionable colours this time

chuck 70s are the higher quality version - there's a very tangible comfort difference compared to the all stars.

still a good amount of stock left as of posting, but you'll have to get in quick if you're in a larger size. having said that, you may need to size down - i found that i needed to with the 70s but not the all stars.

lows are also on special @ $89

Nice, the 70s edition is definitely the one to go for. The standard ones even in hand feel off compared to the ones from pre Covid.

Yes, but they are still too expensive. $99.99 hard pass!

      • maybe, but good luck finding them much cheaper - the blacks especially even hold their value pretty well on the 2nd hand market

  • Ordered for $99.00

    • amended title, cheers

  • Vans Filmore for the big footed (US11 only), $59.95 delivered, $50 c&c if you can find them) at Myer.

So much better buying from Converse online.
Loads of hightop chucks from $50 upwards.
I've bought about 35 pairs over the last two years and haven't paid more than $70 a pair for any of them and most are limited editions which you won;t find at even the brick and mortar Converse shops.

    • like i said in the post this is for the original black pair of 70s. the same shoe from the converse store is at the $150 rrp i mentioned.

also, the sneakers starting at $50 are the worse-quality all star models. if you want a chuck 70 that's in this sort of style, you're looking at spending at least $70 + shipping on there.

so not the fairest comparison. but if you want a limited edition colour, go for it.

    Thanks OP.

First pair of 70s I've owned and you're right in that they're a big upgrade on the all stars.

Glad that I grabbed a pair to compare.

you can definitely feel the difference more than you'd expect! how do you find the sizing/fit?

      • +1

Yeah I was a bit worried about the sizing as I usually wear a US 10 and ordered the 9.5's.

Surprisingly they actually feel like a better fit.
