Maybe mention its a baby monitor in the title/description

  • This or one of them TP link Tapo cameras for 40 bucks?

This comes with a seperate screen (which comes in more useful than you think), and the camera is less bulky

The tapo probably has better quality camera/picture and is great for using as an indoor security camera after the point of you needing a baby monitor

Both have their pro's, pick which you prefer

      • Having had both, I'd say go with the TP-Link 2K camera (C210 model) which goes on sale regularly on Amazon. Your phone can use the app and will have a better screen than that supplied on the one that comes with the baby monitor (not to mention your phone screen, if OLED, will be better for night vision due to displaying blacks etc better and will be brighter based on nits).

        • I get what you mean, but there is definitely a benefit with having a seperate display just for the baby camera.

I.e., when your using your phone you can still see the baby monitor, when you have people baby sitting they can use the monitor, and overall let's you have an independent thing for the baby feed.

Don't get me wrong, display quality is better on a phone, but all your really looking at on a baby monitor is if their awake, crying, rolled over, or something covering their mouth…..your not really trying to watch a 4k image with perfect blacks to see the hair follicles on your baby.

Like I said in my original comment, their are benefits of both, neither is better than the other IMO

    • I'd go with this (or any standalone system) over an internet-connected baby monitor.

      • You can enable the "Camera Account" in "Advanced Settings" of the Tapo app to set a username and password which can be then used with app such as "TinyCam Monitor" and use the local network IP address of the camera.

That lets you avoid the internet delay etc.
