How to Fix Broken Bamboo Flooring

4 planks of bamboo flooring are broken, as shown here. You can feel loud squeak if you put your feet on it.

Kids are always running around so I am afraid it may damage the whole plank one day. Any suggestion how to fix these planks?

    Adopt a panda.

Yeah but we all know a Panda only eats shoots and leaves.

        Pandas are American?!

  • How do you feel a squeak?

  • Isn't it more likely the problem is with the subfloor underneath which is moving and not the plank itself? Could be water damage, rot, termites, etc. Get under the house and take a look when someone steps on it and see if you can determine what is moving. Then you'll know the fix.

    • Squeak is only on 4 broken planks. You can't hear anything when you are walking on rest of planks.

      • why did they break in the first place?

squeak is probably from movement of the boards and a gap between boards and subfloor.

easiest solution is to drill small holes (i.e. 3mm diameter or less) into the boards (just the depth of the board but not in to the subfloor) where the squeak occurs and then using a hypodermic syringe filled with an appropriate glue - inject that glue in to the hole.

then put some weight on the board to hold it down whilst the glue dries. then fill the hole with an appropriately coloured putty.
