    Currently $319 at Harvey Norman!

    • yeah your paying for a US version on amazon which means not Australian warranty

      • +1

I’ll take a US Amazon warranty process over dealing with Harvey Norman any day.

        • really my experience in Queensland at least has been easy as you have a problem take to the shop they replace it or refund it quick and easy, thats at any time of the day during the warranty period.

      • Are you implying it is worth paying almost double for an extra year of warranty?
No wonder Gerry got super rich selling those extended warranties.

    Nice share. Good price

    • Thanks mate. First OzB deal for a Samsung 1TB microSDXC card I believe!

I am just fascinated by the level of storage they can now put in a tiny SD card because my first computer had a 2.1GB hard drive :)

    • +3

It is pretty amazing. A senior friend of mine was one of the first in Australia to have 64KB of RAM!

      • +1

I'm willing to bet that the 64KB of RAM is slower than this 1TB card.

        • I am also willing to bet that the computer that had 64KB of RAM booted faster and felt faster than a computer that can read that 1TB card.

          • @ALBastru: Depends on what your OS is I guess. I would say that's a definite yes if you're running windows.

      • absolute madman

      • that's a massive amount of RAM! I started with 1K RAM on Sinclair ZX81 PC. 16KB upgrade was massive at the time.

    • YT some videos of zooming into 5nm chips. Seriously, here I am living life in 192x144 resolution…

    • Oof. I remember when I got my first 1GB hard drive, 1000 MEGGERBYTES was mind blowing, that's like 700 standard 3.5 inch floppies 🤯

  • Can it be used for DJI mini 4 and DJI action 4?

    • not sure about DJI mini 4 but action 4 max out at 512gb

    • That would be an overkill mate. Unless you are flying your drone everyday and only want to transfer the files once a month or something.

Only if samsung bring back sd card slot to their phones will be very useful

  • San disk Extreme has 190 read and write for
    SanDisk 1TB Extreme microSDXC UHS-I Memory Card with Adapter - C10, U3, V30, 4K, 5K, A2, Micro SD Card- SDSQXAV-1T00-GN6MA https://amzn.asia/d/dBphpRh

    $195.67

    • It's actually 190 read and 130 write, but it is only $138 and a good deal

      • +1

190/130 read/write in a supported card reader*. In reality most of these cards will peak at ~100/100 in most devices due to UHS-I limit. Other factors would probably be more relevant for most people e.g. sustained transfer speeds, random IO. No idea how these cards compare there.

        • +1

Many of the newer UHS I car readers can do 170MB/s. My $14 UGREEN one from amazon and $7 Lexar from Aliexpress reaches this speed. The one on my laptop can't get past 90MB/s.

          • +1

@zealmax: For file transfers sure, but I think you'll have a lot harder time finding devices that actually support the advertised speeds with their built in card readers e.g. cameras, phones, Nintendo Switches, Steam Decks etc. Buying a separate card reader will generally not be an option there.

            • @eecan: None of my cameras do more than 45MB/s. Like they are stick limited by USB 2.0 speeds.

      • Would this one be the equivalent to the Samsung one and is currently cheaper?

    Check with this ….

    https://www.grc.com/validrive.htm

  • Still a long way to make this worthit. 512gb of this was $55 last year.

But anyway this is why I only buy phones with SD card slots.

  • This would be perfect for my galaxy s20+ but unfortunately it developed the dreaded green and pink vertical lines on screen.

Went with S24 ultra with 1TB.

I sure do miss the ease if moving stuff on a card

  • Has anyone tried this (or equivalent) in a MacBook Pro as additional storage? I tried similar years ago with Intel-based Macs, but the cards caused substantial battery drain. I understand that issue has been fixed with Apple Silicon, but I'd like to know if anyone has real world experience?

    • +1

Generally not advised, solely because they protrude from the side of the Macbook. I have seen modified adapters the keep them flush, but they're expensive for what they are.

      • Cool, thanks for the explanation. much appreciated.
