Which Floor Mop Are You Using?

I got the Vielda mop after a friend suggested it but find the mop head is abit small and traps alot of the hair from my tiles in it when trying to wash it after use.

Anyone have any suggestions for alternatives? I'm wondering if this Kmart steam mop might be worth a try

The Vileda mop head is a bit small but it does work well. It's made out of microfibre so it's designed to trap your hair and other dirt. It comes with replacement mop heads so that should tell you that when it gets too icky for your liking then clip on a new head. I use mine on tiled floors with Versadet floor cleaner from Bunnings.

  • c/vacuum/ryobi blower.

  • I've tried a few different fancy ones but have found the simple ones just work so I use a Mr Siga that just uses simple microfibre pads. Also has the benefit that you can use regular microfibre clothes and use it as a floor/wall/ceiling duster.

  • I use a Sabco mop for manual mopping and I’ve also got the Kmart steam mop. The steam mop is great and you can grab a set of extra pads for about $10 but the mop dies after about 12 months. I’m on my third now as I just keep getting them replaced under the 12 month warranty. When this one dies though the guilt of creating waste will have gotten to me and I’ll just opt for cash refund and spring for a Karcher or something.

  • Get yourselves one of these vacuum mop combos. Will change your life.

Maybe once a year I will scrub the grout with a brush. 2mm grout lines, vitrified porcelain tiles with rectified edges.

    • That looks good - any idea what it's like with animal hair?

  • These seem well reviewed, are they recommended on here? $699 -> $524 seems ok with 25% off but still a lot. Shame those squeeze mops suck and break this days although the Bunnings one looks ok for $55 or so.
