Hotmail Account Disabled Due to Hackers

I been having a lot of hackers from maybe India or Pakistan trying to login to my account,

Every time I try to reset, they get my account blocked and now seems to be permanently blocked and said I violate Hotmail.

How am I supposed to login now? Also how do I stop people from other countries always trying to login, as it's very frustrating?

Didn't know any still used Hotmail nowadays but the answer to your question is to always enable two-factor authentication.

What's wrong with Hotmail? It's now the exact same as a free Outlook.com account. Just the domain is different.

  • I can't even sign in to contact them since it's blocked, every place I go says log into contact how's that suppose to work?

Already have another alternative email to send the code, once enter the code it still says blocked

You can't stop other people from trying to log into your account. I looked at my account activity for my 20+ year old Hotmail account and there are hundreds of attempted logins every day from all over the world. Luckily my password is quite strong so they will never guess it. Nevertheless I think I probably should add a 2 factor authentication to it when I get around to it.

    • You can now set it to passwordless, so every time you use your app to approve the sign in.

I have 2FA on my account and in the login attempt log, I have about 5 to 10 attempts per day. Never been locked out of my account for too many login attempts.

Just checked and I have 22 attempts in the last 24 hours and about 3/4 of them are from Brazil.

  • Besides enabling 2FA for extra security, you can also create an email alias.

    • How does that help security? Can you not log in with the alias?

  • Hotmail deletes all your emails if you haven't logged in for more than a year. Kinda glad for it, would be untold cringe in there otherwise.

    • Is that a recent thing? At one point in time I had an account I hadn’t checked for about 3 years and it had over 20,000 unread emails.

      • Well I finally logged in after decades just now and the emails in the inbox go back to 2014. So maybe that's when they stopped deleting old emails. Phew, the cringe is gone.

          It really isn't.

          • @Crow K: At least some of the old cringe is gone.

@AustriaBargain: Absolutely. But there always runs the risk of a WikiLeaks style massive archive dump being searchable and then all your Buffy the Vampire fanfiction is out in the wild again

I get those message with my hotmail account but then open a different tab and try again, and usually get in straight away
