How do you store the bags that you've got? And how many exactly?
@ATangk: I assume he stores them like a matryoshka doll.
@Feelsbad: Nah I don’t go for that
@Feelsbad: Does he store the matryoshka dolls witin the smallest backpack?
@ATangk: Depends how you count (eg some don’t count bags under a dollar amount eg $20-30)
But I have 12 (that I can think of off the top of my head) - then a whole bunch of vintage (10+ years ago) in lowepro, thinktank, vanguard, Crumpler in storage still at my parents place.
The most expensive bag I have is just peak design zip 20l (v2) - which all things considered is actually quite cheap/ low end compared to other premium brands. Next piece would prob be my Hadley pro messenger, can’t find my original invoice , but probably paid a stupid amount for it too about 12 years ago.
I’m in the middle of rearranging my home office / man cave, will 3d print some custom hooks for display as a feature wall. Install a track light system with zoom able beam angle heads to spot light each one, or build a linear pendant to just wash the wall.
@Jimothy Wongingtons: Sounds exciting, but also at the same time I hope these are all used and well loved bags. I tend to only use one until its so dead (crashed my motorcycle on one, looks very worse for wear but i still want to use it), so the rest of the bags are mostly unused.
@ATangk: Most of them yeah , other than the peak design which I’ve only used like 4-5 times, idk what it is about it, it looks too damn nice to take out lmfao
@Jimothy Wongingtons: Ah yes, I know that feel. I have a PD Everyday Totepack in Bone… the colourway makes me never want to put it down, so I've hardly used it.
Yes that's what's stopping me. Any suggestions for other Bellroy? Been looking at Transit.
transit does look good if its in budget mate.
i am a big fan of clamshell design, sooo frustrating sometimes to try and go back to 'normal' back packs.
i also like how they positioned the water bottle so it sits streamline within the design, instead of tacking it to the exterior like some random after thought.
I also like the streamlined water bottle pocket (my Kathmandu Litehaul Carry On has a similar design), but a lot of people don't like that it eats into the main compartment.
Btw, my Kathmandu bag is great for one bag travel - I got super paranoid about losing my checked in baggage for my trip to the Tour de France so I packed all my cycling gear (helmet, shoes, bib shorts and jerseys, saddle, pedals, bike computer, lights, tools…), three days worth of clothing and toiletry bag into the Kathmandu bag and somehow kept it under the 7kg carry on limit. (Had my passport, camera, power bank and a few other things in a separate sling bag that they didn't bother weighing.)
@brotherfranciz: Once you've had a water bottle leak, the external option becomes preferable.
Yes, bought one and still in the return process. Think about keeping it, but don't want to look after my shoulder for the open backpack all the time.
Bought two venture one with one black/one blue, both are great though. That's why want to try new bellroy with this one…
If it's the same price on Bellroy website you can get an additional 10% via student beans
bought last month for the wife, direct from bellroy. its decent. for her taking spare clothes and work laptop to work the closure is fine. She likes its for public transport.
Bag is heavy btw, put a MBP16 and charger you’ll feel the weight already.
IMO, Samsonite backpack would be better option.
This isn't a good deal for a bag that has an unresolved problem with the magnetic flap. You can find similar or better priced bags that won't do this to you.
That said, I love a lot of the other Bellroy items I have but just make sure you check reviews.
As per comment, the flaps sometimes open unintentionally, especially after 6m+ daily usage(Monday - Friday) it started to get worser, I use it for your EDC stuff, clothes no laptop.
It does have a bit of weight to it, so not exactly light bag good quality but.
Fact bellroy know this problem and havent resolved it after so many years is wild to me. I personally have the tokyo tote workbag and its great as a daily driver.
This is a bag that sits on a footstool.
I know last deal went very well votes wise but as per this members comment (and then a few others chiming in with same experience), apparently the bag may still have a design flaw where it opens unintentionally easily
(i'll still +1 though as price is decent, and bag collecting is within my top 5 of collecting hobbies)
