    this deal is getting shrinkflated

    I miss free pizzas

I've never tasted shit, odds on dominos have nailed it.

  • +2

They use to be good. But now they are full of sauce and nothing else.

What’s with the ridiculous prices for extra large these days? Used to be $3 to upgrade. Now it effectively doubles the price of the pizza.

    • $4 now, so 50% increase to a value pizza at my local ($8 to $12).

      • +3

Ahhh yeah but you used to be able to pay the extra $3 when using vouchers. Now you can’t.

Loaded pepperoni with chilli flakes x 3 is my current go to.. Hits the spot

But I feel like the 2 x upgradable pizzas for $20 delivered is better than this I guess will have to test it out

    Dominos isn't real food

This is a terrible 'deal', and here's why. Previously they had cheap Tuesday 50% off. Pizzas were $15 for a traditional at the start of 2024. So my wife and I could get 2 pizzas for $15. Reasonable at $7.50 each.

Now my locals have raised their prices to $18, and if we want the same percent discount, we are forced to buy 3. We don't want to eat 3. But if we buy 2, its only 40% off, so a total of $21.60c for the exact same products we were receiving a few months ago. There is no value added, they're not improved; on the contrary they've declined in quality.

And this is the thing about inflation. The identified overall rate may be 6-8%, but real world inflation is so frequently becoming 20-30% increases on items. Its just that the amount is so small that consumers dont notice it. Bread goes from $2 to $3, Milk goes from $2.50 to $3.10, pizzas go from $15 to $21.60.

I wish my wages would go from 75k to 100k, but they wont. Businesses are only worried about big profits, not about their customers or their employees.

Not knocking OP because yes this is cheaper than full price, but I just cannot morally support these criminals any more.

Pizzas at home for the forseeable future.

cannot morally support these criminals any more

Pfft what. It is $9 to get a frozen pizza from Woolworths and cook it yourself.

Dominos Australia has always had great pricing with low margins. In the UK, prices are much higher for pizza and the quality could even be worse.

      • +2

It's regularly $5.90 on sale at Colesworth, and normal price $4.49 at Aldi, and you can cheaply and easily deck them out to make them miles better than Dominos.

Traditionally Dominos Australia has had respectably low margins for their relative quality I agree, but that was pre-covid, and their share price reflects their inability to adapt to changing market demands, drops in quality, and greedy increases in price and surcharges to increase said margins.

So pfft yourself champ, any business exploiting vulnerable Aussie's in this time of economic stress, just to try and drive aformentioned year upon year profit growth and disguise it under the guise of 'we are hurting too, we have to add fees to ensure we can pay employees blah blah lies', I'd call a criminal act; if not legally, at least ethically.

And for only $2 more you can get a hot pizza cooked for you. I would say that is excellent value, as they need to pay people to make it with fresh ingredients and cook it in a commercial oven.

It is one of the cheapest fast food options available.

          • +2

@watwatwat: Cool bro, enjoy your Domino’s then. I didn’t say it wasn’t one of the cheapest fast food options, I’m saying it’s not an amazing deal or as great value for money as it used to be, especially with the big drop in quality.

              @nokidsandthreemoney:

              Cool bro

I am blocking you because you don't post deals to this website, you just complain.

              • @watwatwat: He says while literally complaining in every comment. Thanks for letting me know you're blocking me bud, now I'll cry myself to sleep tonight because some random 40yo troll who lives in his mums basement disagrees that I don't think Dominos have excellent deals anymore.

Makes sense you like it seeing as its probably all you eat. Have a great last 10yrs before your coronary event legend. You wont be missed.

  • Saturday night I bought two large Domino's pizzas. Was thoroughly unimpressed with the first. I put the second in the fridge and decided to sleep on it. Sunday night is when the bin goes out the front. It was very convenient timing to dispose of the untouched pizza. There will never be another time I order from Domino's.

Back in the days when Dominos value pepperoni pizzas were 5 bucks. Everything is just hyper-inflated nowadays.

  • +1

To be really honest the 40% of 1 or 2 pizzas on Tuesdays only is not really any good deal.

You can just use 40% of everyday coupon for it.

50% of 3 pizzas is a bit too much spending

  • dominos is complete garbage. just sauce, bread and very little topping.
