I don't know much about alcohol but need to buy some whisky to serve at an upcoming pre-wedding event. Would this suffice or is this considered low quality? The alternatives would be johnnie walker black or double black.
The chivas 12 and 15 are terrible. 18 is good though.

LOL. Taste is a matter of, well, taste but suggesting the Chivas 12 and 15 are terrible shows a distinct lack of taste.
Both are very good blended scotches.
But be aware that there is no such thing as the 'perfect' scotch, be it a blend or a single malt. Anyone suggesting otherwise is a fool or someone who knows nothing about Scotch whiskies.
Serving a Chivas Regal 12 y.o at a wedding or any other classy event is perfectly acceptable. Especially as an aperitif tp welcome guests which is where it excels.
Start following the advice of self anointed whisky snobs and you'll alienate more than half your audience.

I would not consider this as low quality and would happily bring it to an event. There is nothing much between this and johnnie walker black/double black, I would consider it on par, and the price is excellent. Good as anything around $50ish.
Just no. This is as rough as anything. I refuse to even drink it. Horrible choice to bring to any big event.
I'm guessing you don't get invited to many 'big' events. And calling Chivas 12 'rough' is probably why.
A bit 'sweet' on the palate for some tastes including mine, and probably best served as an aperitif imho, but in no way is it 'rough'.
Ill buy more mineral water than chivas 12

700ml showed not available for pickup or delivery near me. However I was able to buy Chivas Regal 12 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky 1 litre for $59.45 (Member price) NSW, pickup was available. So worth checking other sizes.
These prices excluding QLD is absolutely HORSE MANURE.
