[PC, Steam] Detroit: Become Human $23.98 (60% off) @ Steam

340

Been looking to get this after recommendations from friends.Looks like it's matched the lowest it's been on steam Store. Game has great reviews. 8.7 on Metacritic. Enjoy.

Detroit: Become Human puts the destiny of both mankind and androids in your hands, taking you to a near future where machines have become more intelligent than humans. Every choice you make affects the outcome of the game, with one of the most intricately branching narratives ever created.

The consequences in this game can be shockingly brutal.

  • I managed to complete this game unlike Heavy Rain (jAsOnnnn!). I enjoyed it, but I always felt the androids core fight was undercooked and rather empty ("We want freedom, coz <insert word here>!"). Ultimately the issue with these games is while they offer you choice, it the story always ends up the same just dressed slightly differently.

    Regardless, I still recommend it.

Agree with the conflicts being undercooked. My review copy pasta:

Unpopular opinion, but didn't enjoy the game.

Played Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls and this.

If you haven't played interactive movies, it's like watching a movie with chores. The QTE feel shoehorned into the game. It took me out of what could be an immersive experience.

Since its an interactive movie, I am a lot more critical of the story. Heavy rain was good, B:TS wasn't. This Detroit Became human, also not.

Why do the andoids gain consciousness? They are victims of violence. Okay, who are they against? Humans who are the oppressors. Should androids have rights? Well, you can't choose otherwise in the game. Humans are garbage and androids are slaves.

For an interactive movie that is supposed to make your own choice, a black and white framed by this game sucks. It doesn't explore what does it mean to be human?

Finally, music is good but not S tier level for me

Tl;dr unpopular opinion, Detroid: Become Human is not very good game

    Great game.

Just finished Fahrenheit aka Indigo Prophecy. Recommend if you haven't played it before. Making my way through all of Quantic Dream games.

Now onto Omrikon: The Nomad Soul once I get it to run properly on Steam Deck.

Great game. Thematically clumsy but such a fun experience, one of the first games I played to end repeatedly to try to get different outcomes

Slightly cheaper on GameBillet. Worked out to $19.42 for me.

  • $18.53 on eneba at the moment.

  • Loved this game, at the end of shows you a flowchart of all the decisions you made, and let's you see secrets you missed and decisions you didn't take.
