Was looking for a collapsible silicone cup with lid and found this in the clearance pile at a local BCF.

Not sure if this counts as a good deal, but thought I'd post and let you guys decide.

My thoughts on the product:

  • ✅Decently sized, somewhere between a large cup and a small bowl
  • ✅Silicone material is a little tougher than other collapsible containers I've owned, which makes it easier to extend/collapse and also easier to hold when filled with liquid
  • ✅Comes with a lid to prevent dust and lint from collecting within
  • ✅Has 100ml, 200ml, and 300ml measurements inside the container
  • ✅Diswasher and microwave safe (remember to remove lid first!)
  • ❌Not really leakproof
  • ❌Awkwardly designed lid is difficult to open if you close it too tight
  • ❌There are jagged edges where the silicone body and plastic rim connect, making it look a little cheap

NOTE: free delivery with $99 spend only applies to orders sent to metro and regional areas.

Sea to summit gear is top quality.

Grabbed a Sea to Summit pot a few weeks back and had been fantastic to use. Strainer built into the lid is great.

  • I have this and some other stuff from the range, good products.

Not sure I'd agree with OP's size assessment, I'd say this medium is a large cup size, not between that and a bowl (volume is 415ml). The large is a bowl.

Also not sure what's meant by the jagged edges? Mine doesn't have that.

  • Normal price $28

  • Do any many day-hikers carry stuff like this? I mean even though it's plastic, it's still heavy and bulky. Do you carry your food in zip lock bags instead?

Consider myself some what of an ultralight hiker.

I use a Soto Windmaster with Triflex with a Jetboil Jetpower Fuel 100g which sits perfectly inside a Toaks 750ml Titanium pot (with bag) (just squeeze the pot ever slightly). This is a very popular option on r/ultralight

It's very lightweight the cooking system at 382 grams and really portable and doesnt add additional bulk as it all fits together. You only need the one pot for everything.

I also have a food dehydrator and bring meats, along with CLIF Bars for a day trip that's usually sufficient. For overnight I buy dry food from camping places. Use water inside my water bladder to rehydrate and cook inside the toaks
