Mitsubishi Triton GSR 2024 Thoughts and Prices Haggling Technique in NSW

Has anyone here bought the new Mitsubishi Triton GSR 2024, any thoughts on the vehicle?

I called my local dealer and they seem to have the GSR stock available so its not like the other cars with a 2 year wait list. In saying that, it seems these cars are not hotcakes or in demand?

They told me they will look after me and give me a good price, what do you think I can haggle to for this model knowing that it is 63k RRP? Would love to hear if anyone here has purchased one and what price they negotiated it down to and add ons to the ute.

They told me the monitoring system con has been updated recently, when I asked.
Many Thanks

Make sure to negotiate a full tank of gas before paying.

Salesman: excuse me for a second

walks out back to the meeting room with the others

-And then I said we will look after him and give a good price! *room explodes in laughter *

Oh, you don’t know just how right you are…

When I was selling cars, the old “yeah, I’m not sure, I would really have to run that by the manager…” spiel was for show… I would go to the manager, let him know I had a fish on the hook and talk shit about anything other than the deal, football, tv shows, whatever.

I would go back to the customer and say some variation on “well, the boss is super pissed about it, but he said we just need to move stock and he said if you’re at that price, he is happy to sign off on it…”

I think that maybe less than 5% of the cars I sold did I need the bosses permission on a price to get a customer over the line.

You'll likely find a Mitsubishi Triton facebook group where you're more likely to get recent feedback and buying info from

  • Go check other brands. Probably not 2yr wait on most. Go drive them and see which suits you.

  • Just use a broker. I've bought two cars via motorscout.com.au and they've saved me thousands more than I could've negotiated myself. No cost whatsoever to you, it takes 5 minutes of your time and you don't need to speak to the dealers until you've got a price you're happy with.

  • Are you sure you want something that nags the hell out of you the moment you look away from Mitsubishi's half-baked effort of a Driver Attention Monitor? Even with the recently announced software update, it's bound to be still shite.
