  • Redemption promo is not just from Amazon, all Canon resellers too https://www.canon.com.au/products/specials/travel-rewards-20….

You are limited to buying stuff from those 2 stores. July luggages and Snap products are not cheap at RRP. Previous cash back promos were better, even if face values were half. Canon is the fastest of all camera companies in term of processing/approving promo claims.

  • Bought Aug 10th, is it still worth claiming?

  • +2

My experience: A couple of months ago I purchased an R10. Great camera, blah, blah. Canon had a very similar promotion at the time, but for $100.

As it happened, due to a minor glitch, I had to return the camera to Amazon (for a full refund), and re-purchase it from another seller. By then, the Canon promotion period was over.. 😒

I reached out to the Canon promo people, and they were fantastic! And they honoured the promo, even though it was a week or more beyond the cut-off date.

That promotion provided an actual $100 virtual Mastercard debit card. Which I have spent on anything.

This promotion limits spending to two (from what I can see) rather over-priced sellers, of very specific type goods.

So, when I first saw the $200 of this promo (for my R10) I was a little miffed. But, on reflection now, I'm OK with the little bonus I received.

    • Agreed 100%. I would prefer $100 Mastercard than $200 July / Snapwireless. Looking at the July feedback, quality is poor. And snapwireless items are just way overpriced. Canon lowered its reputation by associating themselves with these 2 IMHO. Surely it will cost Canon minimum $100 to buy the $200 vouchers … it defies logic!
