The Good Guys Cashback Tracking Time When Using ShopBack

Hi everyone,

I bought an item on TGG via Shopback which showed as 'clicked' on Shopback but not tracked.
I manually submitted to claim missing cashback, which immediately changed the status from 'clicked' to 'pending'.

This is the message on the pending cashback activity:
"Pending: Validating your Cashback

We've received your order details and it is being validated by The Good Guys (Missing Cashback, 09-08-2024, AUD1385.00). You can expect confirmation by 13 Sep 2024 when our partner store ensures that the order is attributed to ShopBack, and has fulfilled all terms and conditions applicable to the store. Cashback for any order that has been cancelled, returned, refunded, exchanged, deemed fraudulent or otherwise ineligible as per the store's terms and conditions will be adjusted or voided."

Questions:

  1. Does pending mean the item has tracked and they are just waiting to see if the item is cancelled, returned, refunded, exchanged, deemed fraudulent or otherwise ineligible?
  2. Is it normal for the item to be in the pending stage for more than 30 days?
  3. Has anyone had a manual claim pending, just to be rejected after their confirmation time period?

  • Pending means pending, it still hasn't tracked yet. Yes, it could still be rejected if it doesn't show up on the good guys end. 35 days doesn't seem a particularly long wait to me either.

    Sounds like the best move is to wait until Sept 13th.

    • Sucks that it's 35 days because TGG change of mind policy is 30 days! It's like TGG purposely not let you know if something is not tracked.
