are pizza cutting wheels actually useful? had a cheap one that just got clogged with cheese, didn't cut very well and was a nightmare to clean. then used a knife which was fine and have settled on using pizza scissors to cut pizza now.
keen to hear if anyone has used the wheel style cutters with success.

    • Yes. I use one of the Scanpan wheels without problems.

I also sometimes use my Gozney rocker.

This isn't cutter isn't really a great price as they are currently $17.99 at Victoria's basement

+2 to a pizza rocker cutter. Perfect complement to our Masterpro pizza oven…

Cutting wheel was binned years ago.

    • Agreed, I find them useless.

A good knife is great for home use (as well as scissors). Rocker chopper if you’re chopping through a lot of pizzas.

    • are pizza cutting wheels actually useful?

      no.
they take more effort to roll over the pizza and the cut does not go through the dough completely (especially at the edge)..
so you will end up needing to use scissors to cut over the cut lines again anyway..

More quicker and better to get a pizza rocker cutter (this is what they use at pizza stores)

I have no problems with this exact wheel cutter, works fine on pizzas from my ooni

      • in general pizza cutting wheel sucks in cutting the pizza and topping properly (and I always need to recut again with scissors)
they also take a lot longer to cut than a pizza rocker cutter.

        it's the reasons why
pizza stores use pizza rocker cutter rather than a pizza cutting wheel.

        • I got this kitchenaid one due to its large wheel. I used to have a small wheel one and it was annoying, and used to get clogged yep. but the bigger diameter wheel, combined with neapolitan style pizza (ie, not 1 inch of toppings) means an easy and quick cut for me using this cutter.
