Ages ago I remember reading a post about all the info that is in an ALDI price sticker at the store.
I am wondering if by any chance anybody know what I am talking about and if they have a link? I have been looking around for it but no luck.
It was 100% ALDI. There are a bunch of numbers at the bottom of the price tags If i remember some of the numbers are the week number it first went on sale? For example the week we are currently in 19/08/2024 is week #34 of the year.

That depends on which calendar you are using.
it still does show the following on the digital tags
week of release of the special buy item
and the product code of the item
Plus any relevant extra info like cost per unit ( like for recent macadamia nuts) which says 473963 is the product code of that item and it was released on 33th week of the year
A lot this information has been lost with digital price tags. In Woolworths you can no longer decipher how long an item will be on sale for, let alone get it for free if someone forgot to take the old tag down.
I don't think the information is lost. I'm looking at past photos of ALDI digital tags and there is indeed a string of small numbers on the bottom line.
It has a number format like "99 999999".
I never noticed the tiny numbers till OP mentioned it.
Am only guessing but the first 2 digit number could be the stock level. I have no idea about the six digit number, though I am interested as there is some commonality between tags.
I am pretty sure somebody who was an Aldi employee made a comment under an ozbargain post explaining what all the numbers mean but I have been unable to successfully search for that comment.
But yeah all the info remains on the new tags as far as I can tell. It's just I have totally forgotten what it all means.
I knew Costco has that with their price tags but not Aldi
