Dell just recently dropped the price for the G2724D from $529.10 to $399.30 and the extra 7% off down to $371.35 makes this the cheapest price since last year and 29.8% off total. Back in May it was $399 and $350.12 from Dell last year. The codes last till September 13, but Dell may put the monitor price back up earlier.

The stand out feature here is HDMI 2.1, which means it supports the PS5 variable refresh rate. (And as far as I am aware, the G2724D is the cheapest option to do so)
It's also a great gaming monitor in general.

Rtings Review

I work for TechRadar AU and I have trawled the Dell website for monitors that are a good deal currently with the 7% off. The Dell S2722QC 27-Inch 4K USB-C Monitor for $351.93 is a great deal, and the 7% coupon discount worked on every consumer display I tried. So Gaming, S series and Alienware monitors. (But not P or E series, or Ultrasharp) I couldn’t find any other coupons that stack unfortunately!

Keep in mind that the coupon may not work with cashback – I can’t confirm either way but others have mentioned it before.

Any reason to get this or wait until the HP OMEN 27q 27-Inch IPS QHD 165Hz Gaming Monitor is at $270 again?

    • $319 currently with coupon

HMDI 2.1 is the main advantage of the Dell G2724D.

It's definitely worth looking at other options if you are happy to wait, or HDMI 2.1 isn't a feature you need now, or expect to in the future.

      • Worth pointing out that the HDMI 2.1 is particular useful if you have a modern 3000/4000 graphics card or want to game on your Xbox/PlayStation. Else use your DP.

i need a work monitor 27 or 32" with brilliant display and usb c, no gaming, videos
use one 2722QC. Need one more

Get a second 2722QC IMO. Currently at an equal all time low using the 7% off code.

One thing - the 2722QC doesn't do daisy chaining, so you need a laptop / dock that can run both.

    • You'll have to decide that for yourself. But the HP is better monitor. Although quality of HP depends on the monitor you receive and there's no guarantee the HP Omen 27 will go on sale any time soon. And you want to check out there reviews on chimolog (use chrome to translate them):

I was after a decent 34" curved but seems like Dell has upped their prices. Can anyone recommend any decent 34" curved for under $600? No gaming, just productivity purposes

    • I dont have personal experience with and its a little bit over your budget but the LG 34BQ77QC-B seems quite good.

    • I've been using the S3423DWC for the past 2 years and it's been solid for me. This one has a USBC hub and keyboard switcher. How I use it is to have my work laptop connected via USBC (power and screen on one cable) and then connect my main computer via HDMI.
I can share the same keyboard and mouse, the input changes when you select each display.

If you don't care for the USBC aspect the S3422DWG is good as well.

I have not used them myself and don't generally handle monitor reviews for TechRadar. I was trawling the Dell website for good laptop deals using the TechRadar code and this monitor was on my Ooooh HMDI 2.1 list.

  • I'm not confident in Dell's products. Is this one better, or should I go for an LG monitor?

I've had the previous OzB favourite Dell s2721dgf for 3 years and it's been great. I also use a second-hand ultrafine 24" 1080p panel for my secondary display and it's also pretty good.

While I wouldn't buy their laptops, I would gladly buy another monitor from them.

  • I’ve got 2 of these monitors as a dual setup for my gaming setup. I got them about a year ago when they were on sale here and haven’t had a problem with either of them yet. The 165hz was a really good upgrade from my 60hz monitor. But 165hz can only be used when using the DP. No issues so far tho!!

I’ve had an alert for this for a few months. After “round adjustment” and $10 rewards I paid just $360.35 delivered.

    Thanks TechRadar

  • What would be a good 2.0 speaker or soundbar to add to this?

I like the Logitech G 980-001303 G560 LIGHTSYNC but its too expensive for what it is and is not the Ozbargain way.

    • If you can find the Edifier MR4 on sale they are a great buy. Available in black or white.
Here's what they look like with a 27" monitor

  • I am so tempted to replace my VA Samsung Odyssey monitor with Dell IPS…

    • correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the high-end Samsung VA panels competitive with IPS in response times?

      • For this same price range, I still prefer IPS. Higher end monitor - which I dont have usually better than entry / mid range VA monitor.

  • How does this compare to the LG GP850-B? I feel like i've seen it cheaper than this and it has one of the fastest actual GtG response times with a 98% DCIP3 colour gamut vs the 95% on this. They are both 400 nits.

  • I hope these don't have poor backlight design like the S2722DC I have where several developed a halo effect. I have doubts about Dell's ultra thin bezels, in low cost monitors.

Any long term owners care to comment ?

  • Love my G3223Q
